Gretchen Mol has joined HBO’s drama series Boardwalk Empire in a recurring role, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Martin Scorsese is executive producing the project, set in 1920s Atlantic City. Steve Buscemi stars as a politician and gangster; Mol will play a showgirl. In other HBO news, Sarah Burns will co-star with Laura Dern in Mike White’s comedy pilot.
