The cast and director are impressive. I’ve heard tales that Branagh “acted” the story idea that he had for this movie, and the script is supposed to be unlike any other “comic book” movie. THOR is a character with some very interesting potential depending on how they handle it, so I’m cautiously optimistic but so far so good!
Ang Lee’s Hulk was also “unlike any ohter ‘comic book’ movie.” Don’t read anything into impressive casts and directors.
I think there’s a difference between Ang Lee’s style of direction and Kenneth Branagh’s. I’m very hopeful, like Iron Man hopeful.
Kenneth Branagh’s also got a wee little bit of experience making creative adaptations of highly revered stories, y’know…
Townsend gets to swing a sword after all..
Not sure how many ppl are aware of this, but he was dropped days into filming LOTR by Peter Jackson for not looking weathered enough.
