Janet Jackson blames Dr. Conrad Murray for Michael Jackson's death

Categories: Music Biz, News

In an interview with ABC News’ Robin Roberts set to air Wednesday at 10pm, Janet Jackson says that she blames Dr. Conrad Murray for the death of her brother, Michael. “He was the one that was administering,” Jackson tells Roberts. “I think he is responsible.” Jackson also says that she’s still continuing to cope with Michael’s passing. “It’s been a tough year,” she says. “You have your days where it’s just really—it’s hard to believe. And a day doesn’t go by that I don’t think about him.”

Although MJ’s addiction played a role in his death, the dr. took an oath to be ethical. he should have never been giving MJ those drugs to begin with. And if he was going to give them to him he certainly should have been keeping a watchful eye. So Janet has a point. Ultimately the doctor was responsible.

“Hey I have a new album to promote, lets talk about my dead brother.”

    • Clive

      Jay, you big LOSER…

      • UGH!

Sorry Clivester, Jay is spot on!!!!!!

    • Justin

This Greatest Hits album was planned long before Michael passes away. These comments make you look pretty pathetic and sad.

      • Jay

What is pathetic and sad is MJs family pimping out his name to promote themselves. I used to love janets music, but she just never changed, her music sounds all the same now, and I really don’t want to hear her sing about having sex with her daddy.

Jay probably knows that the GH album was planned ahead; I’m sure that what he meant (and frankly, I agree) is that just before the album is released, Janet decided to make a statement that is frankly incendiary and controversial about an event (MJ’s death) about which everything has been said already. Why unearth yet another nugget of wisdom about the death of MJ’s, if not to create more buzz about Janet? A comment like this will surely keep people talking about her, which is convenient if you have an album to promote…

No matter when she did her next interview she was going to have to talk about Michael. The album has nothing to do with it.

    • UGH!

Sorry, she didn’t HAVE to talk about it to a national news outlet. If she wants/needs to talk about it, that’s what family and therapy are for.

Oh goodness … more MJ crap. When will it end?

    • V1

Never. I am 40 years old and I do not remember a time when I have not had more MJ crap to deal with. He sang through my childhood to adulthood. Some of it great, some of it terrible, but he was always there. Now he’s dead, he’s always there. It will never end.

Michael Jackson probably had to go through a lot of doctors before he found one who would trade his ethics for a chance to rub shoulders with a celebrity. Michael was an addict and no doctor should have enabled him the way Dr. Conrad Murray did. I’m far from being a fan of Jackson but that’s neither here nor there. The bottom line is that the doctor illegally administered drugs that killed Jackson and Jackson practically begging for the drugs, and promising to pay the doctor huge sums of cash, doesn’t make it OK.

No one will ever use this Murry guy as a doctor again. Can you imagine taking any of his advice? And I’ll be MJ didn’t have to go through too many doctors to get one to do his bidding. Doctors are people too and they’re just as star struck as anyone else.

Do you blame a sick person for being sick? Jackson was in painful clinical condition i.e. lack of sleep. He wanted someone’s help and He deserved a better treatment than propofol. But what did Conrad do to help? Thinking about it, who is to blame?

  • Bobbie

Janet is amazing. Such a classy and talented artist. I agree with her, that doctor took an oath and therefor held complete responsibility. Hopefully they put this Conrad guy away soon. R.I.P MJ, LOVE YOU FOREVER !!!

  • susan lamia

michael jackson was an addict before he hired the doctor,if not him he would have found someone else. janet is in denial. what a waste of a god given talent. wasted from drugs.

    • Marlo

      Drugs ruin everything.

  • Nick

Frankly, the facts are NOT all in, and it sounds like the Jackson family, particularly Janet, would be the LAST ones to know what was REALLY going on with Michael in his day-to-day life. Before we all get a rope and get ready to hang the doctor, let’s wait for some real, honest proof that he did something wrong come in.

    • UGH!

DR MURRAY IS THAT YOU ???????????????????????????

  • Greg

In no is MJ to be let off the hook for his drug use, but yes Dr. murry is responsible, He administered the drugs and didnt keep an eye on his client, and then did nothing too save him.

  • fred

    And the finger pointing continues…..YAWN!!

  • AK

How about the blame that Michael Jackson shares in his own death? Sure, he was basically a child, but it was his own decision that ultimately led to his death.

  • Kate

As sad as it was, the truth was that MJ was paying this guy to administer the drugs. MJ is just as much at fault as the doctor. Not only was he paying a cardiologist to put him to sleep, a job would be done better by a trained anesthesiologist, he was being put to sleep by drugs used in surgury’s. Where they have a team of trained professionals watching the patients vitals. The whole thing was just an accident waiting to happen.

  • Josephine

Whatever MJ was addicted to or not. Murray was supposed to behave like a professional. If someone finds you in a laundry room and ask you to give them washing liquid which is not for human consumption because they are thirsty, and you know it is dangerous for their health, would you give them?

Janet has a point and the entire of Jacksons family have the right to express their pain in so many different ways. YOu dont put blames on paining people. If MJ paid to get a drug, he was desparate to sleep and was paining due to lack of rest. What he needed from a professional is professional guidance not desparate solutions from Dr NO SURE whose interest was only money even on expense of people’s lives.

And you who are judging, I forgive you because you havent been there, so you dont know how difficult it can be to stay sleepless nights and how hard it is to loose your loved one. PLease think about it and stop judging MJ and his family. Try to understand, show love, express love and God bless you!

  • Jacque

Me i think Michael Jackson was the one who needed those drugs so he pressurized the doctor to give him and in return he pays him lots of cash

  • gretta

The proof is there in many ways. An addict is a addict we all agree on that however CHAPPEL & NICK if i were a doctor and my job is to save life why would i put your life in danger. There is not reason at all for jackson to been given that drug by anyone no matter what you somethings you just don’t do. Jackson is to blame for his drug use BUT Murray is to blame for his death he had a role to play by saying NO as a doctor he should have spoke out to family by saying how serious MJ drug use is.Murray a Dr.that saves lives took life. How or what would you do if the shoe was on the other foot and this was your mother, brother, sister, child. You stand up and fight for the ill that was unable to stand for himself and help stop the next Dr. thats out there waiting for the weak. You help a drug user by saying NO maybe he’ll get it from somewhere else by at least his death won’t be on your hands the hands of a Doctor that just wanted money.
maybe i would have put Mj to sleep with something but i promise u when he woke up every family member close friend maybe even a fan or two would have been standing there surrounding him to face the facts you need help thats your duty as a doctor to make good calls.
Conrad Murray had the power to help family file papers to get MJ some help against his will by giving someone else power of attorney.. This doctor had choices to make and he made bad ones. Know ones think MJ is innocent in this but he may not have good so far if other would have said NO to him and the money
