Wow that’s really great news especially knowing that portions of this go to his kids. So happy they decided to extend this a few more weeks!

I’m so glad it will be in theaters for an extended time. I went to see it twice and it was one of the most amazing movie experiences I’ve ever had, I had never seen an audience be so excited to see a movie. People were dancing and singing in the aisles, it was incredible, I only hope MJ could see how much his fans loved him including me !!!

I am hoping to be able to see it again. I loved it so much. It was like he was back.

TMZ is reporting that Joe Jackson is asking for an “allowance”….now that the money is rolling in.

  • Josh

It won’t be long til they all want a share. I’m sure Katherine would like a raise in her allowance for raising the kids in addition to the money she gets to hire nannies and other childcare givers.

Josh, Please don’t treat Mrs.Jackson with disrespect by associating any need she may have with Joseph. MJ loved his mother and MJ trust her above anyone to care for his precious children.Mrs.J need our support not sacrasm. It is apparent she is not giving in to Joseph’s request for money because he is petitioning the court for himself. You do understand once the will is probated Mrs.J can spend her 40% as she like as long as she lives then it goes to the children; and, the executors will still handle the 40% for the children and the charities. Please remember this is MJ’s beloved mother and he wanted her well taken care of because he gave her 40% of his estate! MJ took great care of his mom while he was alive and he even gave Joe and allowance. Please empathize and remember despite it all they rather have MJ he was their precious son and a loving father!

I was suprised by how good it was. That man still had talent to spare. He was is in no way feeble, making his death seem that much more like a tragic, random accident. I think it also says a lot that he was at his best onstage. There were no glimpses into his personal life, and the film was better for it. I never believed he was a pedophile, but I couldn’t imagine that he had ever been happy. It was a joy to watch his enthusiasm and his creative genius at work. This is the Michael Jackson I want to remember.

Not a fan of Michael Jackson, but I have caved in and I will go see “This is it” this weekend. I have heard a lot of good things about the movie, so I have very high expectations otherwise someone will have to pay for this.

Thanks for giving MJ a chance John; I’ve been 3 times and I was not disappointed and will be going again tonight. You will be investing your 9-10 well by seeing this movie!

I wasn’t sure if I could stand to see This Is It, I thought it would be to sad. But now I know I have to see. And I will. If I cry I will cry, but I feel I must go see what Michael was working on before he died. And I have heard so many good things about the movie.

  • Blue Silver

I’m seeing this movie this weekend too!! :) Go Michael!

Why do all these reports list the worldwide gross? They almost never do that with new movies. It’s just that $31 million last week was not that spectacular, less than Hannah Montana in its first week. But to make it seem more impressive, they list the worldwide gross to make it seem like it’s going through the roof. That’s not that great. Blockbusters make MUCH more than that over a couple weeks at the worldwide box office. Why does this movie get special treatment to make it’s grosses seem bigger?

It is list in the category of musical movie which is different from Blue Moon or Titanics etc; and in this prospective it is bigger than any other musical movie. MJ’s significant is this is a movie with a mature entertainer as opposed to a teen bobber movie like Hanna Montana! It is not a competition just a fact due to age of the entertainer and he is deceased. Last new CD Release was 2001-but he has released compilation CD 2003 & 2005! BG -there is a big significants as well because he is pulling a wide demongraphic to the movie that does not ususal see movies like this -and the Movie TII is very, very excellent and well received by media critics, doubters, and fans! You may even enjoy it and then you see why everyone is so happy for MJ -not to take anything from Miley Cyrus! MJ had an incredible fan base in UK of any entertainer and he has increase other US entertainers present overseas because of his great love and respect in UK. This is great for Miley and other entertainers. I guarantee Miley C get the signifficants the next time she relase a movie over seas! CHILL AND LET THE REST OF US OLD FOLKS ENJOY THE MOMENT!

Documentaries don’t make a lot of money. It’s best to use the worldwide number. But still the US number is pretty good for a documetary film.

I was never a fan of Michael Jackson and decided to see the movie only to find out in what condition he was. Let me tell you it was best way I ever spent my $6.50. It was a thrilling adventure. It was masterfully edited. It is a pity that Michael had to die so soon. Obviously, he was a great talent. It is a pity that he met Elizabeth Taylor that led him to that creepy Jewish Dermatologist Dr. Klein. It is Dr. Klein that destroyed the features of MJ. It is the pains associated with the nose mutilations that made him dependent on drugs — that eventually killed him. In any case, go see the movie. You will be thrilled – even if you are a zombie, you will end up shaking your bootie because MJ is the THRILLA !!!

Make way for the new “fairy” “queen” of pop!! Tee-hee!

Comparing THIS IS IT w/Hannah Montana is fair – they’re both concert documentaries. THIS IS IT made MORE THAN DOUBLE Hannah Montana in NINE DAYS than Hannah in its TOTAL run – both worldwide figures. Huffington Post’s Scott Mendelson: “THIS IS IT Becomes the World’s Highest-Grossing Concert Film in History.”

Comparing THIS IS IT w/blockbusters makes as much sense as comparing High School Musical w/blockbusters.

  • Gopher

One of those movies you will always remember seeing…i unfortunately never caught an actual concert, but this certainly made it seem like this concert was going to be epic…great to see michael keeping up with the much younger dancers…well worth the ticket and id see it again in a heartbeat.

  • Urvy

All we need now is a Prince film

This is the Michael we all know and love,,,his Legacy will live Forever….
