Levi Johnston camp upset with Twitter and NBC following 'Tonight Show' lampoon

Categories: News, Tech, Television

A rep for Levi Johnston, the young man best known as the father of former Alaskan governor Sarah Palin’s grandchild, has released a statement to Twitter in the wake of a sketch on last night’s Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien in which actor William Shatner read a series of tweets attributed to Johnston as spoken-word poetry.

The text of the statement, obtained by Entertainment Tonight: “My client, Levi Johnston, is being impersonated on your media (Twitter) and this is leading to libel and slanderous statements being attributed to him. … We want you to put an immediate end to this illegal activity. … You are being used as a medium to promote this illegality and we want immediate action. … You are now on notice and must take steps to put an end to what is clearly against the law and against your policy. … We want to know what steps you will be taking to correct what is clearly a problem which is escalating.”

According to the Huffington Post, Johnston’s attorney has also asked NBC to retract the sketch. When contacted by EW, a spokesman for the Tonight Show had no official comment.

God, can he go away please?

DITTO! Why should anyone care about the “Baby Daddy” to the teenage duaghter of the losing vice presidential candidate? Media is to blame for creating these “celebreality stars.” And, they must be stopped!

  • Liza

He’s a glorified nobody. He needs to GO AWAY!

  • BrandonK

Hm, someone’s tune has changed. He was pretending to have a sense of humor about it on his Twitter account earlier. He does know that if he doesn’t want to be lampooned, he just needs to retreat to Wasilla again, right? Something tells me there’s a good sitcom/dramedy in there somewhere.

    zzzzzzz……

  • couchgrouch

Conan didn’t say anything about that moron(uh-oh…he might sue me)…Shat just read his public statements…publicly.

    • Chappel

Levi Johnston is saying, through his lawyer, that it isn’t his Twitter account and someone is pretending to be him.

  • Aaron

The Twitter account IS unverified, to be fair, and the Tonight Show should have mentioned this since the chances it’s an imposter are pretty high.

  • alex

Let’s see him naked in Playgirl first, then he can go away.

It’s so sad when people don’t realize they are nothing more than a national joke. (Levi’s baby-mama-in-law included.) He’s never going to be more than a national joke and he should just enjoy whatever amount of money he can make out of being a national joke.

Now if only Sarah Pallin could reach the same conclusion.

He needs to shut up and just drop his trousers already. I’m ready to see the sweet beefcake that years of moose meat and beer helped bake.

  • Shelby

How can you retract a sketch?

  • Harry Peters

Released a statement on Twitter? What a way to be taken seriously.

    • Katja

Released a statement TO Twitter. Not on. It would have to be a much shorter statement if it was released via Twitter. :)

That “The Box” trailer has me intrigued. It might be a darn good movie.

I’m sorry, what are we discussing? Nothing? Oh good. At least I wasn’t interrupting.

    • Jen

Ha! This made me laugh out loud!

    • dave

LOL! Thank you for that comment BrentG!

    • Isembard

      LOL.

    • McCoy

“The Box” is just an expanded episode from the “New Twilight Zone” that aired in the 80’s. It was a cute enough episode but there isn’t really a movie in it. She pushes a button that kills someone she doesn’t know and gets a million bucks. Someone she doesn’t know will get the same offer. Surprise!

What about that Carrie Prejean video? Where’s the scoop on that one, heh?

  • rgd

Aren’t his 15 minutes up yet?

  • Elena

Who wrote that statement? It reads like it was authored by a twelve year old.

    • Elena

And before I’m invited to do better I humbly submit the following:
On behalf of my client, Levi Johnston, it has come to our attention that one or more individuals engaging in identity theft have been impersonating Mr. Johnston on your medium Twitter. These slanderous and libelous statements are in clear violation of both the law and Twitter’s own policies. You are hereby put on notice to cease and desist the promotion of this fraudulent and illegal activity. Should the issues described herein continue to escalate we are prepared to pursue all available remedies under law.
      Mr. Johnston, you’re welcome.

      • gigi

I think Levi is represented by “Jacoby and Myers”..the K-Mart of all law firms. Johnston is a total D-Bag! I have no respect for him or the Weekly World News of entertainment media also known as Entertainment Tonight. Hey! What ever happened to Bat Boy? Hmmm….
