According to Variety, Kirstie Alley is close to signing on as the star of an unscripted A&E program. Ten 30-minute episodes have been picked up for the series, which will chronicle Alley’s struggles to lose weight as a Hollywood mother of two. “Kirstie is exactly the kind of star A&E is drawn to,” A&E’s nonfiction/alternative programming senior VP Robert Sharenow told Variety. “Her personal life has been playing out in the media for years, but this will be the first time she’ll be opening up her home to reveal her real life for the cameras.” Expect the series to run in 2010.

Another psuedo-celebrity getting their very own “unscripted” reality show….YAY!!!!!!!!!!!
Um, why??
Kirstie + Food Gains 100 !?!?!?!?!
Kirstie Alley has made a career out of ability to gain weight. I just don’t find that, or her, very interesting. I’ll pass.
Ho Hum, has she no shame? Making a career out of losing and gaining weight. So all of her commercials were about marketing and not being healthy?
