Katie Holmes has taken Liv Tyler’s part in The Romantics. “It was just about timing,” producer Jennifer Todd tells EW of the casting switch. “Liv wanted to take the summer off to be with her child. We were originally were thinking we were going to [begin production] in May, and then when we pushed back a little bit, it didn’t work for her anymore, unfortunately.…Katie had always been interested in the project, so we just waited for her to be available.”
Holmes will also executive produce the film, about old college friends who gather at a wedding. Holmes’ co-stars will include Anna Paquin, Josh Duhamel, Malin Akerman, Elijah Wood, Adam Brody, and Jeremy Strong.

And any wish I had to see this movie at all no longer exists.
Katie Holmes can’t act. This film is doomed now.
Awesome! Liv Tyler can’t act anyway, Holmes is a talented lady whose career got derailed when she married a looney, but she is solid
eck…they have to get rid of that Malin Akerman she’s a terrible actress
I’m not sure what kind of dirt Malin Ackerman has on people because she keeps getting hired. She’s a terrible actress – truly cringeworthy.
