    Get NPH!!!!

    • Amanda

Exactly what I was thinking. He is leaving the door open for NPH!

      • jenn

I agree when in doubt bring in Neil to host your show!

    • thirdman

      I so agree!!!!!!!!!!!

    • juniper

I think they will..I hope they will!

  • Kim

NEIL PATRICK HARRIS FOR THE WIN.

    • Ama

The Oscars cannot get the Emmys sloppy seconds. It is supposed to be on a higher level. First the tony’s, then the emmys. Enough with NPH. Can we get a Neil Patrick Harris break already. One person should not host all the shows consecutively.

      • fancypants

thank you. I like NPH as an actor, but i don’t see what’s so great about him as a host. after a while, singing and dancing gets corny at an awards the show. for the tony’s, yes, it make sense, but not at other shows that dont specifically honor musical theater.

      • M

Yeah, love NPH, but this would be overkill….

  • sweettoons

This makes me sad… Hugh was one of my favorite hosts. I actually watched and ejoyed the oscars last year.:(

  • Sam

    Billy Crystal!!!

    • ed

      EWWWWWW!! Whats wrong with you!

    • zach

what’s wrong with YOU people? Billy was easily the best ever. It’s been so long. Bring him back.

  • April

NPH isn’t right for this gig, great though he is. Let’s go for someone a little more…traditional? But not boring or half dead. HOW ‘BOUT A CHICK???

    • Catherine

      How about Jane Lynch?

      • People for a Sanitary America

I love Jane Lynch!! I’d support that vote!

    • zach

Queen Latifah is always really pleasant and has a great personality. Maybe if she is nominated Mo’Nique should host, because she is also entertaining (granted nominees never host).

  • April

and by traditional I in no way meant straight as opposed to gay. I was re-reading my comment and I thought maybe someone would infer that I meant something by that remark!! I just meant older, more of a traditional movie-star.

    • Daniel

      ELLEN Again!

      • toodles

        hell to the no

      • aimee

What TV needs right now is a lot, lot less Ellen.

      • Dawn

Not going to happen now that she is a guest judge on Idol.

      • Jack

        shes not a guest judge…shes a judge

      • Dawn

That’s what I meant. I accidentally typed guest by mistake.

  • Susan

too bad, at least he left on top!

  • Jenn

    Ricky Gervais!!!

    • LindaT

Good choice, but Ricky Gervais is going to host the Golden Globes, so he won’t be allowed to host the Oscars in the same year.

  • Hayley

Last year’s musical numbers were win… too bad Hugh isn’t hosting this time… NPH would be great!

  • stella

    RICKY GERVAIS OR BILLY CRYSTAL

  • Alisha

Oh! So sad! I never have watched the Oscars all the way through, until Hugh hosted. I didn’t want to miss anything he was going to do next!

  • Dan

Enough time has elapsed since “Uma, Oprah.”. Time to give Letterman a second shot.

    • Kathie

Somehow I don’t think this is the year they are going to invite Dave back.

      • mscisluv

Uh yeah…Letterman is a pretty dumb idea, all things considered.

  • Chip

Amy Poehler and Tina Fey!! How great would that be

    • Trubie

I think they’d be better for a future Globes or Emmys gig.

  • fancypants

WANDA SYKES or STEPHEN COLBERT!!!! no crystal, please no degeneres.

  • EJ

How about NONE OF THE ABOVE. Someone who has never hosted an awards show would be a nice change. Jay Leno maybe?

    • Flyer

Leno? No thanks. We want the audience and TV viewers to stay awake, not die of boredom.

      • Sean

Where’s Johnny Carson when you really need him?

      • Sue

How about Simon Cowell, I love that guy!!!!

  • tom

Bring back Ellen DeGeneres. She was completely funny. Everyone since has been a unlaughing letdown.

  • Dan

Enough time has elapsed since “Uma, Oprah.” Time to give Letterman another shot.

  • charlie

    don rickles, while he’s around

  • Dan

Yeah, maybe Leno could do for the studios what he’s done for network TV! Oh, wait.

  • Maggie

How about someone loved in Hollywood? Tom Hanks

    • Trubie

Tom Hanks could work. I vote for this. If not Hanks, then maybe Meryl Streep. I did love Hugh Jackman last year, but I understand not wanting to do it again.

  • Ben

PLEASE, do NOT let Billy Crystal host again! He’s not funny and his face looks like it was constructed from puddy!

    Also on the “no” list:
Chris Rock (the Oscars are not edgy, Chris, stop trying to make them that way)
Ellen DeGeneres (Isn’t it bad enough that she’s going to ruin AI?)
    Whoopi Goldberg
    Jon Stewart

What about Steve Martin? He did a good job!

    • jCo

I second the Steve Martin nomination!

  • Heather

    Yes with the NPH please.

  • panther

I loved Hugh on the Oscars last year one of the best if not the best Oscar show ever!!!!

  • Laura

    Conan O’Brien!!

    • Dawn

Not going to happen either since he will still be trying to find his way with The Tonight Show.

  • Liz

I thought Hugh was great, and I think the musical numbers are often the highlight. If Billy Crystal would come back, I’d jump for joy, but I don’t think he will. The parody muscial and video pieces are often better than any of the stand-up jokes the hosts ever tell. I think NPH is a good choice, but it might be a bit much to have him host so many shows in one year.

  • Suann

I need to take a moment to mourn the lost of not having Hugh. The show last year was spectacular with so many memorable moments. It’s going to be a challenge for any host to live up to that standard, but I wish her/him well.

  • tori

Yeah, keep shoving these gays down our throats!Between Neil,Ellen,Rosie,
Chasity(Chazz Bono)Adam Lambert that’s all celebrity news is about these days. I don’t have to accept it and God doesn’t either, their all disgusting!

    • Jason

      Their all disgusting what?

      • Sean

The correct spelling is: they’re (not their). Can’t anyone spell anymore?

    • Kate

If you decided to suddenly eliminate all the gay and lesbian people from the history of moviemaking, you would have nothing left. Your bigotry is absolutely ignorant beyond belief, the contributions of gay people in front of and behind the camera have been completely crucial and have been integral from day one of Hollywood.

    • talkin’

      God’s spokesperson has spoken.

      • maskedavenger

There’s such thing as God? Could have fooled me…

    • LindaT

Tori, I think God is disgusted with you right now.

    • kct

Funny, I was just thinking that Adam would be a great host. Okay, maybe not for the Oscars, but he is articulate, talented and commands a stage.

    • M

tori, to sum things up: you are a loser. go away.

    • juniper

      God doesn’t accept hate either.

    • Emily

You sure know your gays! I wouldn’t have been able to rattle them off like that–you must make a habit of studying them!

    • @ Tori

STFU you homophobia. You are the ugly one hating. Go away you creepy loser!! If it takes hate to make you feel “happy” then you are one SICKO!!

  • Zombie Bruce Vilanch

No one wants to do it anymore, it’s a thankless job. Even Jackman got lukewarm reviews in the press the next day. The Hollywood Elite has become a bunch of humorless d*cks. Though, Tom Hanks could work. I think you actually get jail time if you slam Tom Hanks.

  • bas

Tori, God also hates prejudice and tells us that we should treat each other with respect. Why shouldn’t a gay person host the oscars if they would do a good job.

  • jim

Yes, God created gays alright!! We are born this way. Were you born that way? Anyway, God has better things to do than Oscar hosts.
