Jay-Z and Alicia Keys – both of whom hail from New York – will perform “Empire State of Mind” before game 1 of the World Series on Wednesday at Yankee Stadium, People reports. Keys will then perform the National Anthem.
The New York Yankees will face off against the Philadelphia Phillies in the World Series, which will air on Fox (7:30 p.m. ET).

so, jay-z is supposed to be playing columbus, oh wednesday night… any word on whether that’s still happening? that’d be something else if he opened the world series in nyc, hopped a jet to ohio, and played…. don’t know though
Hopefully Elton John will then preform Philadelphia Freedom when the games are in Philly.
I doubt that Elton will perform in Philly. Fox will no doubt have those non talented AI people performing on several nights plus the cast from “Glee” is scheduled for 1 night.
