- I only use Hulu because it’s a place I can watch network shows that I miss during the week. And, all those shows usually stream on the network site anyhow. Hulu just puts it all in one easy place for me to get to. I’m not paying for that.
Same here. I don’t have DVR so Hulu as been my life-saver. But, there’s no way I would pay for it.
so you won’t pay for something that saves your life?
If Hulu weren’t already making money off of advertising, then yes, I’d consider paying for it. But to charge people for something they’re already making profits on seems like a surefire way to lose viewers.
Uh, Charlie. Hate to break it to ya, but if you are watching TV on cable, you are already doing just that. Paying to watch content that is already bringing in ad revenue for the networks. Same with buying magazines and newspapers…
That was exactly my thought. It’s a pain in the butt to remember each show – and go to individual sites – Hulu DID makes that easier with it’s subscription tool – But I would never pay for this service. I guess when it starts…They will see me leave.
Hulu wants to start charging? Then I’ll stick with ITunes. At least there I don’t get commercials and the quality is infinitely better.
agree with all the posts above. such a shame though, i’ve loved hulu. but i guess it’s goodbye hulu in 2010.
I will stop using Hulu the day the start charging. I can always watch the same shows, and more on Fancast, or just go to the networks’ websites and watch it there for free. The only reason I use Hulu is because it puts all my shows together, but I can spend a few seconds jumping from site to site if it means I don’t have to pay for it.
NO NO NO NO NO!!! I love Hulu!! But I won’t use it if it’s not free. *sniff* I’m poor, don’t judge me
F-U-C-@!!!!!
YEAH BOO BOO BOO…lets go watch free stuff on defSpot com
and no one will use hulu once u start charging. morons.
I understand the reason why HuLu would start charging, and that it makes sense as a business model. A lot of other companies have done that with their products, dangle it in front of the consumers face for really cheap or free, then jack up the price. Not a way to keep loyalty. Once 2010 hits, Screw Hulu, I’m doing downloading illegally.
Isn’t Hulu partially owned by NBC/Universal? Makes sense they’d start charging considering how far in the toilet NBC is right now. But I can’t think of a single service that went from offering free content to making you pay for it that stayed with that model for very long.
A lot of software works that way. You get a free trail for a month and if you want to keep using it then you buy it. A lot of sites have free and paid versions too: Flickr, Google Apps, etc.
You go into that knowing it’s a free trial, though, This is just a sudden decision to charge.
Fancast sources most of its content from Hulu, so no, you won’t be seeing it for free there.
This is dumb! Won’t everyone just start watching shows on the network websites then?
oh. HAH um..Hulu…you think you’re THAT good that I am going to PAY to use you??? THINK AGAIN! R.I.P Hulu
lame
Not Cool. So not cool.
Typical… hook ‘em with FREE, then force ‘em to pay. Drop Hulu NOW!
