Last night, director Wes Craven addressed rumors that he will be directing another Scream sequel with an update from his Twitter account: “In response to the rumors about me directing Scream 4, a deal has not yet been set, so stay tuned for accurate information.” However, on Oct. 16, the director had tweeted, “I had dinner with KW last night, and the script sounds fantastic!” giving enthusiastic fans of the horror franchise hope that he’ll soon be re-teaming with Scream scribe Kevin Williamson.

KW’s writing was sorely missed on the 3rd movie, even though he crapped out some bombs between then and now I’m glad he’s doing this script, I’ve renewed interest in the guy after TVD
i can’t imagine a Scream film that wouldn’t be directed by Wes Craven because he is the reason many love the series like myself, COME ON WES, the film depends on you!!!
Now that Neve is back on board, Wes better be also. I want everyone back for the 4th one.

am i the only one that thinks this is sad news??? Scream was good but 2 and 3 completely paled in comparison… KW hasnt written anything worthwhile SINCE Scream (Dawsons Creek… kids speaking like intellectual adults while having soap opera issues.. not for me)… does Wes Craven even “direct” anymore?? anybody see Cursed????? and poor Neve Campbell– has no choice but to say yes just to put a roof over her head…

Getting the original team on board is the best way to make this installment in keeping with the rest of the series. I’m all for new storylines and new characters, but it’s still got to feel like Scream.
Honestly,I’d really like Randy to come back.I know it hasn’t been confirmed wheather Jamie Kennedy will be reprising the role but Wes Craven has said himself he would like Randy to come back.
