Charges expected to be filed against 'Balloon Boy' family

Categories: News

The Larimer County Sherirff’s Office in Colorado says that they expect charges to be filed against the Heene family in connection with the balloon incident that occurred on Thursday. “We do anticipate at some point in the future, there will be some criminal charges filed with regards to this incident,” said Larimer County Sheriff Jim Alderden. Earlier today, father Richard Heene gave a bizarre press conference in which he asked reporters to leave questions for him in a box and said that the search for his missing son, Falcon, was, “absolutely no hoax.”

Sounds to me like the law enforcement knows something more, I always thought it was a hoax.

Child welfare authorities also need to get themselves involved with this family. They either stashed the kid away in the attic for five hours or he’s so afraid and intimidated by his father that he stashed himself away for five hours. I am equally appalled by both scenarios.

What’s the weather up there on your high horse?

      • Anna

        Sunny and clear.

      • Shamrock

Yeah, I heard it’s like that in Fantasyland.

      • Jean Genie

Wow, Shamrock – if you find any good in that family, you must be one sick puppy.

      • Khristina

        Sunny and Clear… LOL

If only we could create another government program! That would solve our child-caring woes!

  • brandy

maybe i’m the only one, but i love this wacky soap opera.

Its an “OK” drama. I think the parents need to be financially liable for the costs of the search and the damage to the farmer’s wheat fields. But it pales next to Kanye/Taylor, MJ, and even the Police thing in NE. Maybe its cuz its a child that makes me ill on this one.

You need more in your life. This is media manipulation and you’re falling for it…

      • Jean Genie

It’s airheads like Brandy that are enabling this.

A guy called in on a radio show and said he wondered if the child was given a sedative to keep him quiet all those hours in that box, he thought maybe that was why Falcon was vomiting the next morning during the news show interview because how can an energetic kid stay quiet all those hours. I suppose anything is possible. I think the parents in particular need a reality check.

EW, rise above the others and declare: THIS IS NOT NEWS!!! (And neither are Jon & Kate, OctoMommy, Susan Boyle, etc etc…)

    • Lint

This is not a news site. It’s Entertainment Weekly. All the stories you mentioned fit right in here.

    • Robert

what being an overindulgent pseudo celebrity is not entertainment – wow – you have some strict standard – chill

  • Dorothy

These parents make me sick!!! The father says he won’t stop his kids from cussing because he cusses. What a jerk!

That video looked phony…the dad kicking something and yelling about his balloon, the child going up to the camera to tell his brother that he is going to sneak in………..that balloon looks too flimsy for a 5-year-old to go up in air. And wouldn’t he immediately fall out?

SHAME ON THAT IDIOT DAD AND HIS WIFE! Let him get the charges he deserves!

    • Jean Genie

Knowing what this family is already like, Heene’ll find yet another way to make his family celebrities. Trust me on this one.

      • dee

Yep. He’ll write a book from prison.

  • Dorothy

Anyone who finds this as entertaining is just as sad as the family who came up with the whole lie in the first place!

  • Rick

The continuing media saga over the Balloon Boy story is giving Heene all the media attention he wants.

All this attention will no doubt raise his views on YouTube, make more wonder about his inventions… and raise his stock price for when he does his book deal…

Just stop reporting about this. If and when charges come, or SS takes their children away — report that. But until then, all this media attention is what the Heenes wants.

People loving the media attention will continue to pull stunts like this as long as they get their time on the tube.

  • Jean Genie

I’m tired of this white trash drama, too. Can the reality show phenom get any worse?

  • Blue Silver

So much speculation everywhere and you can’t always trust the law enforcement, let alone the nut-jobs or publicity whores! I won’t assume nor draw my own conclusion about this, but I am SO glad Jon and Kate have taken a back seat to this new headline!

  • Blue Silver

    ……talk about serious media manipulation!!!!!!!

  • Jill

Everyone is roasting this family. Most Internet TV channels via ( LoggTV.com ) around the world are covering this funny UFO incident.

  • Dorothy

That father lets his kids cuss because “I do it so how can I tell them not to?”

He chases tornadoes, with his wife and kids.

He lets them wreck the house.

He throws them on TV interviews, even when the child is throwing up. The mother has to be told to go with the child to comfort him.

The most despicable…telling your child to go hide out while you let the whole country think he is in that Jiffy Pop balloon!!

I enjoyed reading this post as it covers a similar topic I recently talked about on my dog blog
