They may have gotten booted from NBC’s coverage of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, but the Glee kids have just snagged a gig that’s even more high-profile. The LA Times‘ Show Tracker blog reports that the Fox cast will be performing the national anthem before game 3 of the World Series. Currently scheduled for Oct. 31, the game will take place in either Los Angeles or Philadelphia.

Since the AL won the All star game they have the home field advantage, so game 3 will be at the NL team’s town, which would be either LA or Philly (depending on who wins the NLCS).

Yes LA or Philly. The Oct. 31 game will be in the NL city (thus LA or Philly) because no matter which teams win, the series will start in the AL city.

If the Glee cast does the national anthem in Philadelphia, they better be absolutely spectacular because this is a tough crowd to perform for.
Most of the numbers they do on the show are great, but I hope they’ll have enough respect for the national anthem to do a straight version of it (no offense, Curt) and not try to make it into a jazzy dance number.
