Columbia Pictures is planning to remake the UK miniseries Red Riding, Variety reports. Steve Zaillian is in talks to write and Ridley Scott to direct. The UK three-part, five-hour miniseries is a story of power and police corruption is set against the disappearance of several young girls in England; the new version would be transplanted to the US and condensed into one film. The British Red Riding Trilogy, based on David Peace’s novels, will be out this fall from IFC.
