A-ha is oh-ver. According to the BBC, the 25-year-old Norwegian pop group, famous for “Take On Me,” is splitting up just months after scoring a top ten album on the UK charts. The reason for the break up: The trio are quoted as saying they wanted to pursue “other meaningful aspects of life, be it humanitarian work, politics, or whatever else.”

They suck anyway.
Thats too Bad.I like their song Cry wolf Back in the 1980s.That was a good song Back then.
A-ha is still together?
obviously not.. didn’t you read the article?
I lent my sister their latest album and she still hasn’t returned it. She says it’s really good. I’ll find out for myself…if I ever get it back!
Did not realize they were still together. Will have to look for this latest album. Take on me is still one of the greatest 80s videos of all time.
I thought they broke up 25 years ago! You mean to tell me that they did something else besides “Take on Me”?
Yes, they did. 9 albums in fact.
You should know that most “one-hit wonder” groups survive long after their fame.
Morten, Mags and Pal make great music whether together or apart, so I’m looking forward to their future work.
I’m curious to see how many people will post “I didn’t know they were still together” or “I thought they broke up xx years ago”
Their most recent albums (2000+) are actually pretty good! Its like listening to Coldplay’s weird uncle!
Sad to know they are splitting up, but it makes sense for them to quit while they are on the top. (Their last album was a top seller in the UK..)
It’s too bad that A-Ha were a one-hit wonder here in America. “Take on Me” is a great song, but it isn’t even the best song on the album “Hunting High and Low.” (That would be “The Sun Always Shines on TV).
I’m saddened to hear that they are splitting. Hopefully they will play a few venues in the States on their farewell tour.
They should have retired years ago after their first hit.
Right before they broke up, did they have an “AH-HA!” moment? That would’ve been ironic.
Too bad they didn’t ride their Family Guy rebirth to greater heights when they immortalized them with Chris Griffin’s supermarket homage.
They lasted a long time! With some very good music. They set a guiness world record a number of years ago for the largest paid audience for a concert nearly topping 200,000 fans. So no… they did and do not SUCK.
It’s a shame the American corporate music industry hid so much of a-ha’s great work. Examples? Well, from the 80s, check YouTube for: “Living a Boy’s Adventure Tale”, “The Blue Sky”, “The Sun Always Shines on TV”, “Stay on These Roads”
In 2000, a-ha put out a great album, Minor Earth/Major Sky. Unfortunately, I haven’t kept up with them, since then, but of course it would be up to me, because the U.S. never plays anything but Take On Me, giving the false impression that they are a one-trick-pony / one-hit-wonder band.
A-ha was the very first concert I went to when I was 13! I knew they were still together. Just heard an interview on Sirus about a month or two ago.
