'Family Guy' creator Seth MacFarlane to headline Fox variety special

Family Guy executive producer Seth MacFarlane will star in a variety special for Fox next month, according to Variety. MacFarlane, together with actor Alex Borstein, who voices Lois on the animated show, will headline “Family Guy Presents: Seth and Alex’s Almost Live Comedy Show,” on Nov. 8. The comedy show is based on “Family Guy Live,” a showcase that MacFarlane and Borstein have performed throughout the country.

    the execs at fox should be shot. they CANCELED family guy at one point. now it is the highest rated show on sundays. it spawned a successful spin off. now they cant get enough of mcfarlane. only if they gave other shows second chances.

    I was gonna say when I read the headline…”Family Guy live” I knew it couldn’t be anything original. Seth stopped being that back in 2001

    A variety show is perfect for the contemporary King of Comedy. Seth and Alex were made for this format. If you think about it, Family Guy is like a variety show already with cutaways, expendable jokes, and musical theater parodys. Don’t kid yourself. This is a no brainer for Seth and will once again turn to gold.
