Actress Keira Knightley is set to make her debut in London’s West End (the UK’s equivalent of Broadway) in a new production of Moliere’s The Misanthrope, according to the BBC. She will star opposite Damian Lewis and Tara Fitzgerald. The play, which updates the story from 17th century Paris to contemporary London’s entertainment scene, opens Dec. 17 and runs through March 13. Knightley may be on home turf but she’ll be playing an ambitious American film star named Jennifer, who attracts Lewis’s character.

Ironic that she’ll be donning an American accent for her British stage debut, while she’s been able to use her native one in Hollywood so often.
I’d just like to point out that Broadway is in fact the equivalent of London’s West End – not the other way around! The West End was there first
the misanthrope is a great play. moliere writes with biting, acerbic wit. i think most of his work would translate very well today.
best young actress, might have to make a trip to london to see this
Enough about Kiera Knightly… what about the sexiest redhead on the planet aka Damian Lewis!!!! Watch out… the bunnies are coming!!!!
