Beastie Boys rapper Adam Yauch (a.k.a. MCA) emailed a statement to fans today, saying he feels “healthy, strong and hopeful” after undergoing surgery and treatment to remove a cancerous tumor in his left salivary gland. Yauch’s cancer diagnosis, announced in July, delayed the release of the group’s upcoming album Hot Sauce Committee Part 1, originally slated for Sept. 15. No new release date has been announced.
