According to the Hollywood Reporter, New Line is developing a new project as a sequel of sorts to 1983′s classic Vacation. David Dobkin (Wedding Crashers) will produce and potentially direct. Potential writers are in discussions about the script, which is expected to focus on Clark Griswold’s son Rusty, who is now a father himself going on a family road trip.

Keep cranking out those original ideas Hollywood!?!
guarantee it goes straight to dvd
They already did this a few years ago with Christmas Vacation 2: Cousin Eddie’s Island Adventure. It was just as crappy as you imagine it would be and of course was a tv/ dvd release only.

There are already enough Vacation movies! No more please….
Not a good idea. However, if they’re going to do it, cast Anthony Michael Hall as Rusty.
Agreed! They HAVE to have Anthony Michael Hall as Rusty!! That would be hilarious! And, he’d be awesome in it.
But really, the series is 3 for 4. And the odd numbered are the better ones.
Really?Another Vacation movie sequel? This Time about Rusty Griswold.Whos now a Father? When is that going to Happen?
A new writing team has written a prequel to the Vacation series titled, “Honeymoon”. From what I hear the story line follows Clark and Ellen from engagement, to wedding, and honeymoon mixed in with a present day story line of Audrey (Juliette Lewis) getting married in Los Angeles. Sounds like a great way to work in the old cast plus introduce the “next generation” Clark Griswald. Thoughts??
