Survivor creator Mark Burnett and Sony Pictures TV announced a plan today to create a reality show based on the late 1970s, early 1980s classic ABC series Fantasy Island, reports Variety. Like the original show’s fantasy-fulfilling Mr. Roarke (Ricardo Montalban), contestants will compete to make guests’ dreams come true, with one poorly performing contestant banished from the island by the guests each week. The show has yet to secure a U.S. network, and there is no word yet whether the new production has plans for a character based on Hervé Villechaize’s Tattoo.
