Extortionists like this moron, like Andrea McNulty or Kate Faber, should be in JAIL and SUED for damages. Enough is enough.

What is so shocking about Lettermen having sex with some of his staff members as it is happening in a lot of offices etc.?
Does this news change his talent as a comedien ir does it make him a bad husband or unfit father?Let it go and move on people. The man is human and we all make mistakes if that is even what it was.
Keep making us laugh Dave and do not let this sick guy do you or your family any harm.God bless you and your family.

Dave’s still got it goin’ on? Good. He seemed to have turned into such a crabby old man.

I SUPPOSE THERE IS NO CHANCE THIS GUY CAN HAVE HIS DAY IN COURT BEFOE HE’S FOUND GUILTY.

    • Kevin

He tried to cash the check that was put out there as bait! His is a case of “guilty until proven guilty”.

Good grief! Is it now okay to cheat on your wife and/or girlfriend and expect that you will still be the apple of everyone’s eye? Why is this okay with everyone? I just don’t get it.

Letterman had a long history of not being monogamous before he took up with his son’s mother. That wasn’t likely to change, and I’d be amazed that if they didn’t have some kind of agreement about not being monogamous. His job isn’t to model sexually monogamous behavior, it’s to make us laugh. So yeah, it’s OK, as long as he makes us laugh. Grow up, you can desire more than one person at a time.

He doesn’t have to be the apple of anyone’s eye, he just has to be a funny late night talk show host.

Whether Dave is guilty of cheating, or this happened years ago, it still doesn’t excuse someone trying to extort money from him. What, just because Dave did wrong, that means person trying to blackmail him and extort money is justified? And Dave is an entertainer, he isn’t supposed to be someone we base our own moral standards on. He’s just supposed to stand up there and be funny.

Just because we think the extortionist is a jerk and a half – doesn’t mean we love, praise, or approve of Letterman’s behavior. There’s a difference.

Sorry, didn’t mean to directly reply to your comment Dana. haha

I have absolutely no problem with what Dave did. Most people meet their partners at work, it happens every day and the fact that it can expose you to law suits from other employees does not make it immoral! We are so uptight in this country about sex. He didn’t cheat on his wife, and even if he did, if she has no problem with it, then neither should we!

I was never a Dave fan per se, but will watch the show in support moving forward and if he loses his job over it, I will stop watching CBS all together, Just sayin…

You are exactly right about Americans are so uptight about sex.

Now what will come about of the future of this Stephanie Birkitt, who is in the center of all this? I’d say they should fire her.

    i say….it’s no one else’s business!

Letterman is fine; he never was the “Family Values” type. Yes, he probably cheated on his girlfriend now wife. But at least he does go around claiming he is Mr. “Family Values” like some of our politicians (can you just see the grin on all “Fake News” reporters/commentators). This has been a tough summer, for Dave, for our economy but at least he did not end up on the “Republican 2009 Summer of Love” list: Assemblyman, Michael D. Duvall (CA), Senator John Ensign (NV), Senator Paul Stanley (TN), Governor Mark Stanford (SC), Board of Ed Chair, and Kristin Maguire AKA Bridget Keeney (SC).
