Disney will be reducing the number of films produced by specialty division Miramax, according to the Hollywood Reporter. Although president Daniel Battsek will continue to oversee production out of New York, most of the studio’s marketing and distribution will transfer to Disney’s Burbank headquarters. The company, founded in 1979 by Harvey and Bob Weinstein — who left the name behind when they split with Disney in 2005 to form the Weinstein Company — has only released three films this year: Adventureland, Extract, and The Boys Are Back. Everybody’s Fine, starring Robert De Niro, is scheduled to open Dec. 4.

I think they are doing this because Mirmax movie aren’t always hits…Like Doubt, even though it was a good movie!!
Neither of those movies were even close to becoming hits. I enjoyed adventureland but failed to reach Superbad status, and Extract was a failure. Clive Owen maybe has a chance to lift Boys are back but everyone’s fine looks terrible from the trailer
