NBC says that Jenny Slate, who now infamously said the F-word on this weekend’s Saturday Night Live premiere, will keep her job on SNL. The Sept. 26th episode was Slate’s first show as a cast member.

Annie Potts, soap star Kim Zimmer in Hallmark Channel's 'Freshman Father'
Annie Potts and Kim Zimmer will join Drew Seeley in the Hallmark Channel film Freshman Father, Variety reports. The movie, set to air in 2010, will feature Potts as an apartment manager who’s a surrogate mother to Seeley’s character, a Harvard undergrad juggling school, a shotgun marriage, and parenthood, and Emmy-winning Guiding Light star Zimmer as his dean and mentor. Production has already begun in British Columbia on the project, which is based on a true story.
'Michael Jackson: This Is It' sneak-peek screenings sell out in two hours
Music documentary Michael Jackson: This Is It advance screenings sold out within two hours Sunday, with fans lining up as early as three days prior to snag their share of the 3,000 tickets to the Los Angeles showings, the AP reports. While the movie opens nationwide Oct. 28, the new Regal Cinemas Stadium 14 will celebrate its grand opening by showing it on all 14 screens. The film, directed by choreographer Kenny Ortega, culls from hundreds of hours of footage of Jackson rehearsing before his June 25 death for a series of comeback concerts he had planned to do in London.
Charlie Cox, Donald Sutherland, Gillian Anderson join 'Moby Dick' telepic
Charlie Cox, Donald Sutherland, and Gillian Anderson will join William Hurt and Ethan Hawke in the $25.5 million telepic adaptation of Moby Dick, Variety reports. Cox (Stardust) will star as the crewman narrator Ishmael in the classic tale, while Sutherland will play Father Mapple and Anderson will play Ahab’s wife, Elizabeth. Hurt was previously set to play Ahab, and Hawke first officer Starbuck. Overseas distributor TeleMunchen is producing.
Khloe Kardashian weds Lamar Odom
Reality star Khloe Kardashian has married her boyfriend of one month, Los Angeles Laker Lamar Odom. The couple wed Sunday at a private residence in Beverly Hills. Kardashian and Odom invited 250 guests to their wedding bash, including famous folks like Keeping Up With the Kardashians producer Ryan Seacrest, Kelly Osbourne and Chelsea Handler.
Spanish pianist Alicia de Larrocha dies
Alica de Larrocha, a former child prodigy considered by many to have been the best Spanish pianist in history, died Friday in Barcelona at the age of 86. The Barcelona Symphony Orchestra held a minute of silence before this weekend’s performances in honor of the diminutive pianist who was less than 5-feet tall. De Larrocha’s public performances began at age six. She played with major orchestras around the world, won several Grammy awards and was known for her unique interpretations of Mozart, Shumann, and various Spanish composers.
Actress Tawny Kitaen arrested on DUI charges
Actress Tawny Kitaen, who most recently appeared on the VH1 reality show Celebrity Rehab with Dr. Drew, was arrested at 3 p.m. Saturday in Newport Beach, CA, when officers suspected that she was driving her Range Rover under the influence of drugs or alcohol, the Associated Press reports. Kitaen is best known appearing in heavy metal band Whitesnake’s videos and her role as bride-to-be in Tom Hanks’ 1984 film Bachelor Party.
Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist William Safire dies
Pulitzer Prize-winning columnist and former White House speechwriter William Safire has passed away. Safire, who had been diagnosed with cancer, was 79 when he died Saturday in a Maryland hospice.
The award-winning writer wrote the “On Language” column in The New York Times Magazine, and boasted an Op-Ed column in The New York Times for 32 years. The conservative Safire, who wrote over 3,000 columns, often butted heads with politicians like former President Bill Clinton, and spent much of his career writing about civil liberties and Israel. Safire also authored 15 books, and served as a speechwriter in the Nixon White House. He was awarded the Pulitzer Prize for commentary in 1978 for his columns criticizing former President Jimmy Carter’s budget director Bert Lance.
Andrew Shue and Amy Robach engaged
Former Melrose Place actor Andrew Shue is engaged to Today show correspondent Amy Robach, according to People. It will be the second marriage for both Shue and Robach, who got engaged last week.
