Annie Potts and Kim Zimmer will join Drew Seeley in the Hallmark Channel film Freshman Father, Variety reports. The movie, set to air in 2010, will feature Potts as an apartment manager who’s a surrogate mother to Seeley’s character, a Harvard undergrad juggling school, a shotgun marriage, and parenthood, and Emmy-winning Guiding Light star Zimmer as his dean and mentor. Production has already begun in British Columbia on the project, which is based on a true story.

Maybe now that Guiding Light is over, this will mean more prime time appearances from Kim Zimmer. She’s fantastic. Somebody get her a regular drama role.
Good to hear Kim found something so fast after the unfortunate demise of Guiding Light. Look forward to seeing more of her in other places.
I say that Kim Zimmer should be in a sitcom in 2011.
Another BIG blunder by CBS was taking the best soap off and adding another boring game show.
CBS: can you at least use your head and cast most of the characters of Guiding Light in your other soaps?
all good things
please bring back guiding light i miss all of them specialy Alan
It was a real kick being able to see dear Annie Potts again. As always…even though her part was fairly small, she did a great acting job, as she did so on her Designing Women series…loved her part in that show. I sincerely hope we see more of Annie in the very near future.
