This arrest is an outrage. I’m speechless.
But I believe he will survive. He’s a survivor after all.
He survived Krakow ghetto, he survived tragic death of his pregnant wife. He left the country more then 30 years ago- a great decision!
I hope he’ll survive this nightmare of arrest and this horrifying press. Poor guy.
Poor, poor rapist. He survived people who wanted him to be sentenced for drugging and raping a child. What a nightmare for him that people don’t understand that he should be allowed to drug and rape children because he is an ARTIST! And this horrifying press that keeps bringing up the fact that he drugged and raped a child! How dare they remind him that he drugged and raped that child, when he himself can barely remember drugging and raping that child. Leaving the country 30 years ago was a great decision, because France would never arrest an “artist” for drugging and raping a child.
What Polanski did back in 1977 is a crime, and one that he, as well as anyone else that committed a like crime, should be held responisble for. He was a grown man who plied a 13 year old girl with champagne and pills before sodomizing her. I had little to no respect for Hollywood “elite” and I use that term loosely; prior to this report, however think even less, if at all possible of them now. Instead of coming to the support of the victim, everyone is outraged at the unfair treatment of the great Roman Polanski. Why does it no longer matter, because the victim is now in her 40′s and apparently forgiven him? Would any of you supporters feel the same if God forbid your child was assaulted by someone who flew jurisdiction for thirty years and was now brought back to face up to their crime? I certainly hope not, what would that say about you as a parent. He should not be treated any different than anyone else who commits a crime – hopefully he gets a new moniker other than director – how about registered sex offender.
I wonder if Hollywood would be so willing to let bygones be bygones if this was a Republican politician or a clergyman who raped a 13-year-old girl? Would they be dismissing it as a “little mistake 30 years ago”, like I heard one Hollywood person say? Just another indication of how completely screwed up Hollywood is.
He had a tough life – SO WHAT. He took the chicken shi* way out of owning up to a horrible crime. How can anyone feel pity for him? HE RAPED A 13 YR OLD GIRL! He’ll find out what happens to child rapists when he goes to jail. Better hang on to the soap for dear life.

It was indeed rape. He had sex with a child even though she said no and asked to go home a number of times.

Furnishing Quaaludes to a Minor
Child Molesting
Unlawful Sexual Intercourse
Rape by Use Of Drugs
Oral Copulation
Sodomy
They made a deal with Polanski that they would drop most of the charges if he would plead guilty to Unlawful Sexual Intercourse.
