Hundreds line up at L.A.'s Nokia Plaza to buy tickets to Michael Jackson's 'This is It'

Categories: Uncategorized

Michael Jackson mania is reaching fever pitch. Days before tickets to his posthumous concert film, This is It, go on sale, hundreds of fans have already started lining up for tickets at L.A.’s Nokia Theater.

Tickets will go on sale across the country at 12:01 Sunday morning, but only at the Nokia will the first 500 fans also receive an authentic This Is It concert ticket. The Nokia Plaza is also offering commemorative t-shirts, posters, and hosting a Jackson look-a-like contest during the weekend festivities.

Sony Pictures — the distributor of the film featuring rehearsal footage from what was supposed to be Jackson’s upcoming London concerts — has announced that the movie will be in theaters for just two weeks. It opens Oct. 28 for general audiences; but the new Regal Cinemas at L.A. Live will feature special Oct. 27 shows as  part of the theater’s grand opening.

Remarkable that fans are lining up in LA to see the Michael Jackson concert film! You can tell that people are just anxious to see this last performance from the King of Pop! It will be just as big as the enormous posthumous sales of his past albums since his death in June. People want to remember this most recent performance of Michael. And he would have rocked that stage in London had he lived. It is a big, massive stage with that concert!

I went to the movies on Friday, and they were already selling tickets. I bought three for opening weekend. I really hope theres still tickets left on Sunday when they go “on sale”

    • Chrystal

  • Josh(cleveland)

  • Sally in Chicago

I don’t want to see HIM, he looks malnourished.

    • Kandice

Well keep it to yourself, we don’t want to hear your negative comments Sally. I wonder how you look?

How can other people who do not live in LA purchase these tickets? Also, will it be possible to purchase a possible DVD of these rehearsals in the near future?

I find it odd how a lot of people became fans AFTER his death…what phonies

  • Ligaya

People who trashed MJ in the last 20 yrs. & became fans AFTER he died are phonies. One silver lining of his dying is that with all the radio/tv playing his music/videos a lot of people 20 & under have discovered him and become fans.

    • Kandice

So true, but I have always been one of his #1 fans. I never believed any of the bad thinks he was accused of. I knew he was innocent and honest and such a talent. So, for the new fans more power to them. But he has had fans under 20 before he died.

This is great, but I also want to know how those of us outside of LA can get tickets — online? Where? This article isn’t informative enough.

I got tickets for Friday on opening weeks through Fandango. I hope this sells out to show the media that Michael has worldwide fans that have been loyal to him always and stop the slander and gossip.

  • Natalie
