I know it takes a lot of courage &
stength to be able to tell anyone about things that your dad did to you.I suffered for 25 years before I ever told my MOM. After I drugged & drink. I’m still in therapy 1 on1 because of what my Dad did to me,I always pick the wrong men.Therapy is helping me understand my why he picked me. she has my heart on this one.
I have read dozens of blogs expressing insult and indignation that myself, a published freelance writer with years of corporate investigative experience would dare to question the validity of Mackenzie Phillips’ book. Consensual sex is way different from parental sex or abusive contact with a child. The situation Mackenzie writes about is somewhat rare in the US which is not to say one sided incest does not occur in unacceptable numbers. There are only two, that’s right two people who can give absolute verification to the story heard round the world and one will not be available to so.
Additionally, because I have no need to acquire the book, I do not know but would surmise that there is a legal disclaimer protecting liability. In no way am I suggesting something improper in what may turn out to be a fictional account of what may have happened. I would advise young bloggers to not accept blindly everything you read in the media or in celebrity books. Reagan said it best, “Listen first and then verify”.
I apologize to any parties concerned if I inadvertently indicated that Michelle, who bolted out of our era as reputable and credible was Mackenzie’s natural Mom. It is irrelevant, I remember her well and fully believe her version. Please understand that I am not saying that Mackenzie did any thing improper in writing this book. I am simply observing that fine young people that love to write on the Internet bought into this story immediately even though to date it is an unsupportable and self serving account of “consensual”
parent child intimacy as opposed to one sided abuse which is far more the norm for this hideous behavior. Also, the sisters gave hearsay evidence only, inadmissable.
