CW's flight attendant docu-series 'Fly Girls' set to debut midseason

The CW announced today that its new docu-series Fly Girls, which gives a glimpse into the lives of five “beautiful Virgin America flight attendants,” is set to debut midseason. The network describes the series as being “about real, down-to-earth young women who happen to have landed in an exceptionally glamorous, high-flying career filled with exotic locations and handsome strangers.” In eight half-hour episodes, the show will follow the flight attendants to Las Vegas, South Beach, and New York City, as well as give a peek into their shared home-base “crash pad” in Los Angeles. It is produced by Collins Avenue Productions, with executive producers Jeff Collins (Bridezilla 3, 4 & 5, The Exterminators) and Colin Nash (The Hills, The City).

Instead…watch BBC’s Mile High. It was pretty good. Will be better than this I’m sure.

What about the not-so-beautiful Virgin America flight attendants? Or do they only hire gorgeous people…

    • JoJo

Yes…Virgin America only has beautiful flight attendants! Seriously: the majority are in their early 20′s and drop dead gorgeous.

Anyone wanna bet that this show will replace Melrose Place after it is cancelled. That would suck. I like MP.

    • Kim

I agree 100%, they seriously better not be replacing MP with a show about flight attendants…

  • Raymond

    Bring it on… sounds great!

Totally reminds me of Mile High! The sad difference will be this one claiming it’s all reality. There should be warnings at beginning of these shows saying its not true reality. Why isn’t this law mandated yet?

Apparently ugly flight attendants lead boring lives. And if these women were really “down-to-earth” girls would they really consent to be on a reality show? Anyone willing to be on one seems to be a attention whore.

“The network describes the series as being “about real, down-to-earth young women who happen to have landed in an exceptionally glamorous, high-flying career filled with exotic locations and handsome strangers.” If this is really what the show will be like then I can tell you, as a real Flight Attendant, that there won’t be much reality to this reality show. My job is nothing like the public imagines, and nothing like the producers describe.

you probably fly for a crap airline. i work for virgin america as a flight attendant and it is amazing!

  • Really?

I saw on another blog about an upset passenger who thought they would get their money’s worth of fees by eliminating in the aisle….exceptionally glamorous career, hmm not so much anymore!

I love flight attendants. I heard this show is gonna be really hot.

I saw the pilot in Vegas while they were testing this for audiences and it was REALLY DAMN GOOD. The five girls ar all very different, great personalities, beautiful, and really funny. Nicole is the bitch, but she’s the best kind of villain I’ve seen in a really long time. And there’s a drop-dead gorgeous asian girl. I think it’s going to be a huge hit. Taking bets?

  • Tony

Well it could be worse for sure. They could have made this show with American Airlines and it’s high seniority flight attendants. Most likely name for the show would be:

    “Flynasaurs”.

  • C. Tay

This show was stolen and sold to the CW Network with a name change!
