Sony Pictures TV heats up new project from 'Rescue Me' co-creator

Sony Pictures TV, the company behind cable hits such as Damages and Breaking Bad, is booking deals with the major networks. According to The Hollywood Reporter, the studio has landed commitments for hour-long dramas by Jack Orman, Kevin Falls and Josh Berman at ABC and Peter Tolan and Ed Redlich at CBS. Rescue Me co-creator Tolan is working on a project about an eccentric professor/detective, while Redlich’s The Remembrer is about a female FBI agent with a perfect memory, which helps her career but hurts her personal life. Orman’s drama Montagues and Capulets is about two feuding families in Chicago’s legal world. Falls’ Merrimac Circle is a mystery set in a Washington, D.C. suburb, where intelligence professionals question an enigmatic new neighbor. Finally, Berman’s drama is about two female homicide detectives. Sony Pictures TV also is planning series adaptations of two Sony library movies, St. Elmo’s Fire and Heathers.
