I can’t wait to hear more about this! I’m a big fan of Twilight, which is what led to me to read the Host. I really enjoyed it :)

OMG! So completely stoked to hear this! I truly, truly adore The Host and have hoped for a movie, but NEVER thought it would actually happen!

I wonder who they will cast as my beloved Ian? Matt Dallas would by pick!

Also, they MUST include the “give me a lie. Tell me you want me to stay…” part – that scene did me in, and I was a goner. LOL.

And yeah, getting wayyyy ahead of myself, I always had two songs in mind for the movie if it ever came to be.

One, “Breathe Me” by Sia for when Kyle is attacking Wanda (I think the violence of the scene, coupled with the lyrics ‘be my friend, i am small, etc’ could be pretty heart-breaking), and….

‘Dare You to Move’ by Switchfoot:

    Welcome to the planet
    Welcome to existence
    Everyone’s here
    Everyone’s here
    Everybody’s watching you now
    Everybody waits for you now
    What happens next?

    Welcome to the fallout
    Welcome to resistance
    The tension is here
    The tension is here
Between who you are and who you could be
Between how it is and how it should be

Maybe redemption has stories to tell
Maybe forgiveness is right where you fell
Where can you run to escape from yourself?
    Where you gonna go?
    Where you gonna go?
    Salvation is here

It’s so surrreal that this movie I imagined making will actually be on the big screen one day! I’ll be keeping tabs on all updates. :-D

Wow, just re-read that comment, sorry for the typos and randomness, that was a total case of me gushing and having no time to self-edit. LOL

I’ve never read the Twilight books and I haven’t seen the film, but I have to admire the fans, your devotion to the series has helped the economically distressed town of Forks, WA. TwiFans have literally saved businesses from closing by tourism and to all the haters- when was the last time any of you can say that? Read today’s New York Times about the economic impact Twilight has had on Forks- with the bad economy, healthcare crisis and seemingly never ending war in Afghanistan, some good new for a change-kudos to Stephanie Meyer and the Twilight Fans!

this book was so much better than twilight, and as soon as I read it I figured it would make a really fun sci fi movie. This is good news

I loved this book! After I finished reading it I thought about how it would be approached as a film but I was discuraged because the Melanie/Wanda differentiation thing. How are they going to do that. have to two different voices? Well, i think this movie is going to be EPIC! It was an epic story so I hope they try to match it up on screen. I’m soo excited!

Tried to read the Host, didn’t care for it. Hope the movie is better. Just the opposite of Twilight.

If anyone has avoided reading The Host because you didn’t like Twilight, give it another chance. I read Twilight and HATED it; I honestly thought the woman couldn’t write her way out of a paper bag. But I picked up The Host on a whim, figuring I’d give her another chance. Honestly, she still can’t write, but The Host has a good plot and is much more cohesive and mature than Twilight. So if the only reason you’re avoiding The Host is because of Twilight, give it a chance.
