I agree, this woman is so overrated.

      • Megan

        I second that agreement!

That’d be true, except she is the head writer on United States of Tara. But don’t let the facts get in your way!

Noooooooooooooo. What, are the twins going to hook up? If I remember, those were “nice” teen romance books. They’ll all be wr@res fifteen minutes in to the file.

Luvz it. Diablo is a really talented writer. Juno was fantastically written. And despite myself, I might end up seeing Jennifer’s Body… So I’m very interested to see what she’ll produce next.

Diablo is insanely talented. Jennifer’s Body may have bombed, but it was actually pretty good. And Juno is a fantastic, touching, hilarious film. She is an amazing Oscar-winning writer. Not to mention reading anything she writes (her page, articles in Entertainment Weekly) is entertaining and well-written.

One trick pony is right! I anxiously await the day when we no longer hear the over-hype that exists in the forms of Megan Fox and Diablo Cody.

This is just about the crappiest idea ever. I agree with Bri Guy, one trick pony + I wish Megan Fox and Diablo Cody would take their untalented selves and jump off a bridge. UGH. The only way this could be worse is if she cast the Olsen twins as the Sweet Valley High twins. Wasn’t the 90’s tv show enough?!

      • Mike

Lil’ harsh there, auds! How about they just stop making bad movies! No need for any bridge leaping!

  • Alison

I’m more excited about the fact that they’re making a movie of Sweet Valley High! I read the books as a tween and will definately see the movie! Don’t really care about Diablo Cody… Can’t wait to see the cast as well!

I….what? Honey, I know you j’adored Original Flavour Beverly Hills 90210, but no. Just…no. The Babysitter’s Club movie was a bad idea way back when, and this is a bad idea now. Just…go do something fresh and fun and fantab, mmmkay?

OH MY GAWD. I think Diablo Cody is amazing, she’s one of a kind, and I love her columns in Entertainment Weekly. I started reading Sweet Valley books in elementary school, and went all the way up through high school. I always respected Elizabeth, but I secretly wanted to be Jessica. This should be all kinds of great. Its time for a makeover for the twins, anyway. And some snark.

    • Erica

I agree Jessica seemed way more fun

  • maiv

HAHA i used to be so obsessed with these books! they do seem like something she’d write about. i’ll wait until I see what the project looks like

  • Eric

Cody is my favorite voice in media today. Bring anything with her on!

  • jose

    urgh she sux

Wow…this was a bad idea for all involved. Those books haven’t been popular since I was in middle school and the show was a travesty. Oh well, I did love them at one point; I hope they pick one of the many ones involving a serial killer to base it off of. But this is going to bomb badly as a movie

  • shelby

    YES!!!! That is amazing news

  • robinepowell

I read the Sweet Valley High books in high school and I’m surprised that movie studios have waited this long to turn the book series into a movie. Might be interesting, depending on how well Diablo does with the script. ;)

  • Emkay

Love diablo Cody. And while I loved sweet valley high when I was 12 , Cody is pretty much the only person who could write a movie about it that I might see now. If she’s a one-trick pony I would like her to keep doing it.
