Starting Dec. 13, Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury will star in the revival of Stephen Sondheim and Hugh Wheeler’s Broadway musical A Little Night Music. The production—which will mark Zeta-Jones’ Broadway debut—will be directed by Trevor Nunn. “I look forward to starting rehearsal with this extraordinary group of people and working with the incomparable Angela Lansbury, whose work I’ve long admired,” said Zeta-Jones in a statement. Previews for the production—staged in the Walter Kerr Theatre—begin Nov. 24.

SO excited for this. First rate Sondheim, with first rate actors? I’ll be there multiple times, I’m sure.

I presume Catherine will portray Desiree while Ms. Lansbury will take on the role of Madame Armfeldt?
If so, they’re perfect casting choices. Who’s playing the male lead?

Alexander Hanson will play Fredrik Egerman (as he did in Nunn’s recent London production of the show).

OMG. Superior Sondheim, a fine director, a 5-time TONY winner, and an Oscar winner. Who can ask for anything more? Send in the Clowns? No. Send in for tickets. NOW.
