Ed Harris, Emma Roberts and Amy Madigan have signed on for indie drama What’s Wrong With Virginia, Variety reports. The film will be directed and written by Dustin Lance Black, who won an Oscar for his Milk screenplay. Harris replaces Liam Neeson in the role of a sheriff whose political ambitions are jeopardized by his daughter’s boyfriend’s complicated family history. Madigan plays the sheriff’s wife and Roberts plays their daughter. The titular Virginia will be played by Jennifer Connelly. The film starts shooting Sept. 28 in Michigan.
