      LOL thanks for the laugh!

i wonder what this one is about. and i hope the have a more clear and concise plot direction like the first pirate’s movie had. please, no will (bloom) or elizabeth (knightley). they were absolutely annoying and had nowhere to go since the end in the third part.

These movies are horrible, why do they keep making them$

your horrible and your mother drinks bacon grease flavored dackories for fun..these are the best movies made in the last 10 years…so kill the dream with a bow and arrow…

I’m not going to see this because it doesn’t have Orlando Bloom or Kiera Knightly!

  • Willow

It sounds too….soft, for lack of a better word, compared to the other titles.

  • Zach

The 1st movie was great! the 2nd two were like the 2nd two matrix movies. NOT NECESSARY! so a forth movie is even worse!!

I wonder if Johnny Depp, one of this generations great actors, knows he’s signed on for another turd?

    • mscisluv

Of course he does. But if I could millions starring in a turd, I’d do it too – and since we all know that he really is a great actor, he doesn’t have to worry about his reputation to do it.

        mscisluv,

You’ve touched upon Depp’s true genius. Almost any other actor makes this movie with the gigantic, super-commercial Disney machine and he’s a sell out.

However, Depp seems to give off this vibe that he’s in on the joke (because he probably is). He gets to keep his (hard-earned and deserved) reputation as a great actor, while making these incredibly commercial Disney movies, and we don’t get mad at him because it’s almost like he’s stealing Disney’s money (which he’s not because they and Depp make a pretty penny off of these).

I read on article on Depp on Vanity Fair about how he has his own private island in the Caribbean. Now I know how he can afford to keep that up.

I’ll start being excited for these movies again when they start making sense again.

You people don’t realize that these movies are made for KIDS! Geez, if you don’t want to see it, don’t see it.

    • elly

There are plenty of good recent movies for kids that I’ve enjoyed, even though I’m in my late 20s and childless… The Iron Giant, basically anything from Pixar or Studio Ghibli, other Disney live-action like the recent Sky High, The Forbidden Kingdom. Why give kids films a free pass to suck?

  • Nerwen Aldarion

How about Pirates of the Carribean: The two sequals sucked so let’s continue this debacle!

  • carole

what’s wrong with just using roman numerals – I can see it now – Pirates XXIII

  • ramon

Pirates of the Carribean; the one where Johnny Depp for 3 amazing hours believes he is indeed a pirate

  • JPX

    What an awkward, terrible title!

Absolutely loved the first movie, and I could watch it over and over and never get bored with it.
Johnny Depp was BRILLIANT as Jack Sparrow (“Captain! Captain Jack Sparrow.”) and from the very first second of that legendary first shot of him standing on the yard of his (sinking) boat, I completely “forgot” I was watching Johnny Depp playing a role. It takes a great actor to have that effect, and as far as I’m concerned, he should have won the Oscar he was nominated for.
But despite their fabulous lead character, the story lines of the two other movies just didn’t do it for me the way the first movie did, and I really hope the 4th is (much) better than that….

    • Nerwen Aldarion

I loved and still loved The Black Pearl but I wasted 8 bucks on the second film and didn’t even bother seeing the third after my friends told me about the disappointing ending. The first film was funny, a little campy and just an overall fun film but the second had TALKING FISH HEADS!!! That’s fine for Finding Nemo but not in a Pirates film!

  • Kelly

The first one was good, the second one was okay but the third pirates was horrible. If only I could get the time I spent back. Still good for Johnny Depp, he enjoys playing that character.
