Michael Jackson tribute concert delayed until next year

Organizers have announced that the Michael Jackson tribute concert scheduled to take place on Sept. 26 in Vienna has been canceled, Reuters reports. Instead, the event will take place in London in June 2010, to mark the first anniversary of Jackson’s death. On Tuesday, Jackson’s brother Jermaine and organizer Georg Kindel said at a news conference in Vienna that the tribute’s roster included Mary J. Blige, Chris Brown, Akon, and Natalie Cole. The very next day, however, they backtracked and cited various conflicts with those stars’ schedules.

Mary J Blige said no one even talked to her about it. Jermaine’s acting all sorts of crazy.

Crazy seems like the trend for the Jackson Clan

Carole – didn’t you watch the CB interview with Larry King – Michael was the man for CB – he loved and respected him as an artist. Can’t we all just get along :(

In this case, no. We can’t. He beat up his girlfriend.

Wasn’t Mike American? Why can’t we get a tribute concert?

Thank you to all of the above. For those of you that are goig to buy tixs to this scam/sham, I have a P.O. Box you can send it to and I’ll make sure it’ll get there.

making comments don’t mean that I am going to spend my hard earned dollar on it – two words – spell checker

having the MJ tribute in this country would make too much sense – of which not a single person involved has any at this time…

  • Ladyli1

This concert was a slimy idea in the first place! MJ had NO ties to Vienna in the first place. Then ALL the “BIG” named star never knew they were supposedly involved. Jermaine is a jerk who tried to make a quick buck. Anyone who buys tixs to this thing is asking to be ripped off!!!

Sure let’s do it next year and hope that people will forget that Jermaine and company tried to lie their way into making some bucks off the dead brother (tickets said no refunds and no guarantee of artists performing). I would like to see a tribute concert in the US but if Jermaine’s involved don’t bother.

I liked the tribute that involved thousands of people dancing the Thriller – that’s good stuff – people, people – what does a bunch of over priced singing heads going to do for me in terms of paying respects to the King of Pop – that would be NOTHING…

i agree that jermaine’s intentions are not exactly pure, but according to the official memorial website, all ticketholders will get a refund.

The concert ain’t happening. Period. It’s like that big 9/11 all-star record Michael said he was going to release.
    Big plans. Little reality.

MJ’s 9/11 memorial song was released — “What More Can I Give”. And so what if some of his plans don’t go through? He’s only human. And he did create the biggest selling album of all time (Thriller), groundbreaking videos and the freakin’ moonwalk. He’s allowed a few missteps.

      • carole

His plans – dude MJ is gone – this is all Jermaine’s doing…in that nonsense kinda way…

      • fancypants

        i’m not a dude.
