The premiere of Oprah Winfrey’s 24th season will shut down a stretch of Chicago’s busy Magnificent Mile for more than two days. The Chicago Tribune reports that the talk-show icon will film her show Tuesday, Sept. 8, on a temporary stage near the Michigan Avenue Bridge. Some Chicagoans will be inconvenienced starting Monday, as cars will not be allowed and the city’s Transit Authority will alter 15 bus routes. Winfrey’s main guest remains a secret but a show spokeswoman confirmed the musical guest will be the Black Eyed Peas.

What Goddess wants…Goddess gets
Great…getting to work will be a blast. It’s not enough that Obama freezes the city every time he comes, Oprah has to do it too…
doesn’t Oprah film her show everyday in Chicago? So it’s not like the shuts it down everyday. goodness.
so the blab queen is shutting down the most congested section of Michigan Ave right after the Labor Day holiday – wow! – just go ahead and piss off everyone who needs to get to work via that stretch of road – nice move blab queen – of course you would have never thought about shutting down the blocks that are actaully around your studio – WHY – for those not in Chicago – because O studios is located on an industrial stretch of road that does not look all that pretty on tv (or in person for that fact) – and Harpo better be paying for all the city services associated with messing up the city – Taste of Chicago is one thing – but you……
i hope your vain complaints make you feel better.
YES THEY DO – THANKS FOR CARING – I’M VAIN JUST LIKE YOU- bene – you obviously care about the working person trying to get to work – just like the blab queen does
Chicago is beautiful city but wouldn’t it be better for Oprah to show the needs of the city and the people that are out of work rather than be another commerical for the 2016 Olympics. Leno had it right. . . see the people in need and show that one person can bring attention to what’s important.
hmmm….I wonder if Michelle Obama is the guest? I’m guessing the guest will have strong ties to Chicago, b/c of the avenue closedown. President Obama is a little busy.
got to be the President or first lady. only person I can think of that would demand this kind of security…
