Jon Favreau, the director of the Ironman franchise that stars Robert Downey Jr., may helm the actor’s next movie, Cowboys & Aliens, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Downey’s been attached to the DreamWorks/Universal project - an adaptation of the Platinum Studios Comics graphic novel written by Fred Van Lente and Andrew Foley – since last summer. Alex Kurtzman and Roberto Orci (Star Trek, Fringe) are executive producing and writing the script, along with Damon Lindelof (Lost).
The high-concept western pits cowboys and Native Americans against aliens in the 1800s.
