Avril Lavigne & Alicia Keys were Sony BMG/RCA’s best selling artists in 2007, Avril has also sold over 30 Million albums since 2002 by the time she turned 23, so please don’t try and tell me that Avril is not still relevant.
I personally don’t care much for Avril, however, there are alot of people out there who like her. So, who are we to judge? The judges last year (and even before then) were really bad. In fact, as much as it pains me to say this, Simon was the worst offender when it came to bias and contradiction (sheilds face). Really though, in the way I interpret it, judges are supposed to give honest feedback and give advice to help the kids in their musical futures. None of the judges did that, ever, especially Paula. Speaking of which, alot of people say that Idol’s treatment of her was “sexist” well, wouldn’t you also consider Simon’s treatment of female singers sexist as well? I mean really, remember back in season 7 and Carly did that awesome remake of “here you come again” and last season with Allison’s rearrangment of “hot stuff”? They never got credit! Maybe some will disagree, but hey this is just my $.02.
Give me a break. Why can’t they pick some actual talent? Some talent that has been relevant over the years. You know a talent that has knowledge of the business, and can actually sing! Those like Avril need help in the studio with voice overs and such to make them sound good. “AI” needs some actual voice talent. That’s what “AI” is all about too. Avril stinks. Katy Perry can’t even sing! Have you heard her sing live? Goodness. You’ve got to be kidding me on Victoria Beckham too. What a joke to have her on. Neil Patrick Harris? I’m sorry, but no thanks. Joe Jonas? Why don’t you just invite one of the Hanson brothers on while you’re at it. Mary J Blige and Shania sound good, I like that combination. Kristin is cute and charming, and I could actually enjoy her being on the show, and she CAN sing too, which is great. Mary, Shania and Kristin are fine, but the others are a JOKE.
Avril doesn ´t need a studio to sing very well, because she is really talentd. And she is better than Shania.

Avril may not be the best singer youve ever heard but ill give her credit she is pretty good and she sings about what she wants to she expresses feelings into her music unlike some songs that dont have a point and everyday when i listen to avrils songs they dont sound the same

She made a revolution as a young artist. her songs are mostly written by herself & she is honest with herself & her songs. Her music packs the punch of her soul.
So i think to be judged by her will be the best for an amateur.

Avril Lavigne, what a loser and waste. She sat there in a hoodie with horns and laughed at contestants as if she were a great talent. AI should only have judges worthy of commenting on others.
