According to the Hollywood Reporter, Valkyrie scribe, Christopher McQuarrie (who won an Oscar for his The Usual Suspects screenplay) has been hired to write the script for the sequel to this summer’s X-Men spinoff, Wolverine. Hugh Jackman, also a producer on the franchise, approached McQuarrie with an idea for a storyline based on a popular run of the comics in which Wolverine goes to Japan, trains as a Ninja, and struggles with his animal instincts.

Andy Kessler, skateboarding pioneer, dead at 48
Andy Kessler, a star of New York’s skateboarding scene in the 1970s and beloved figure in national skate culture, passed away August 10 at age 48 from a heart attack following an allergic reaction to a wasp sting in Montauk, New York, according to the Associated Press.
Last year, Kessler appeared in the documentary From Deathbowl to Downtown: The Evolution of Skateboarding in New York, which will be released on DVD September 15. At the time of his death, Kessler was reportedly working on improvements for a skate park he designed in Montauk.
'Dallas' star signs on for Disney comedy
Patrick Duffy will appear in the Disney comedy You Again, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The actor played Bobby Ewing on the CBS show Dallas. You Again is directed by Andy Fickman whose previous films include The Game Plan and Race to Witch Mountain.
Maggie Q to star in 'Priest'
Mission: Impossible III actress Maggie Q has joined the cast of the horror film Priest, according to the Hollywood Reporter. She will play a vampire hunter in the movie, which also stars Paul Bettany and Cam Gigandet.
'Moll Flanders' director to make film about infamous tennis player
Pen Densham will direct Big Bill, a film about tennis player Bill Tilden, according to Variety. Tilden was the first American to win Wimbledon. He also spent time behind bars for sexual misbehavior with young boys. Densham previously directed 1996′s Moll Flanders, which starred Robin Wright Penn and Morgan Freeman.
Tony Danza to 'Teach' at a Philadelphia school
According to the Associated Press, Tony Danza is prepping for a new A&E reality show called Teach, in which the Who’s the Boss? star will co-teach a 10th grade English class at a Philadelphia high school. The city’s School Reform Commission is set to vote next week on whether or not it will give the show permission to shoot on school grounds.
Anne Dudek joins 'Covert Affairs'
Anne Dudek, best known for her role as Dr. Amber Volakis on House, has been cast in USA’s upcoming Covert Affairs, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Dudek will play the sister of a CIA trainee (Piper Perabo) whose mysterious ex-boyfriend piques the interest of her bosses.
Joe Morton to join 'Brothers & Sisters'
Eureka star Joe Morton is set for a recurring role in 7-10 episodes of the upcoming fourth season of ABC’s Brothers & Sisters, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Morton will play a tough anatomy teacher at the medical school attended by Justin Walker (Dave Annable).
Lifetime's 'Sherri' to bow Oct. 5
Lifetime has announced an Oct. 5 debut for Sherri, a new sitcom starring The View co-host Sherri Shepherd, according to Variety. The half-hour comedy—about a single mom (Shepherd) on the dating scene—will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m.
