Jon Hamm has joined the cast of Sucker Punch, Zack Snyder’s fantasy film about an institutionalized girl scheduled for a lobotomy. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Hamm will play a character named High Roller, opposite the film’s star Emily Browning (Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events), Vanessa Hudgens, Jena Malone, Abbie Cornish and Carla Gugino.

Oliver Stone brings 'Secret History' to Showtime
Oliver Stone will bring 10 sure-to-be controversial history documentaries to Showtime. Variety reports that the Oliver Stone’s Secret History of America will dedicate each hour-long episode to a specific underreported historical event or political issue, including the decision to drop the atomic bombs in 1945 and America’s global role in the post-Cold War era. The series is slated to air in 2010.
Kim Kardashian to guest on 'Brothers'
Kim Kardashian will guest on Fox’s new sitcom, Brothers. According to People Magazine, the reality star and ex-girlfriend of NFL running back Reggie Bush will play a variation of herself who’s implicated by rumors of a scandalous affair with an ex football player, played by former Giants star Michael Strahan. The series premieres Sept. 25.
Rosario Dawson joins 'Unstoppable'
Rosario Dawson will join Denzel Washington and Chris Pine (Star Trek) in director Tony Scott’s Unstoppable, Fox’s thriller about a runaway train loaded with toxic cargo. Variety reports that shooting will begin this fall.
Paris Hilton wins 'Pledge This' lawsuit
Paris Hilton was not responsible for the disastrous box-office of the 2006 sorority film, Pledge This!. At least according to a Miami judge. The film’s producers had sued the star for $8.3 million in damages, claiming that she had failed to promote the film per her contract, but the Associated Press reports that U.S. District Judge Federico Moreno ruled against them. The case isn’t entirely finished, as Moreno allowed the possibility for the film’s producers to argue that Hilton should return some of her $1 million salary. Arguments could be filed in the next few weeks.
Jamie King cast in Darren Lynn Bousman's 'Mother's Day' remake
Jamie King (My Bloody Valentine 3D, Sin City) has joined the upcoming remake of Charles Kaufman’s 1980 Troma cult classic Mother’s Day, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The original movie was about three female friends who run into a pair of brothers out on a murder spree to impress their insane mother. The remake, directed by Darren Lynn Bousman (Saw II, III, and IV, Repo! The Genetic Opera), is being retooled as a psychological thriller in which the crazy family returns to the house where they once lived to terrorize the new family living there. King will play the woman of the house, a wife who has lost her child and is isolating herself from her husband. Shawn Ashmore, Briana Evigan, Alexa Vega, and Matt O’Leary are in talks to join the production. Shooting starts next month with a Mother’s Day 2010 release date peg.
'Saw' writers' 'Clive Barker's Hotel' script picked up by ABC
ABC has picked up a script from Saw writers Marcus Dunstan and Patrick Melton for Warner Bros. Television’s horror project Clive Barker’s Hotel, according to the Hollywood Reporter. The script is about a series of ghoulish incidents at a haunted hotel. Barker is producing, and McG’s Wonderland Sound and Vision is in talks to produce as well. McG could also come on board to direct if the project moves forward.
Celine Dion expecting second child
Celine Dion and her husband Rene Angelil are expecting their second child, according to People. Dion, 41, reportedly took time off in March after her concert tour ended to have more children and focus on her family. She and Angelil, 67, already have an 8-year-old son, Rene Charles, while Angelil has three other children from two previous marriages.
Michael Jackson's physician breaks his silence in new video
Michael Jackson’s physician Dr. Conrad Murray — the subject of a manslaughter investigation following the singer’s death — released a video today thanking friends and patients for their “support and prayers.” In the clip, which clocks in at exactly one minute, Murray explains that he made the video, “because of all that is going on, I am afraid to return phone calls or use my email.” Murray was with Jackson leading up to his death and allegedly gave him a powerful anesthesic. Murray concludes the video by stating, “I have done all I could do. I told the truth and I have faith the truth will prevail. God bless you and thank you.”
