Rumors that Paula Abdul has been busily plotting a return to American Idol have been widely exaggerated, her manager David Sonenberg told the Los Angeles Times yesterday. Abdul and her former bosses have had “no discussions whatsoever about Idol,” and the “Opposites Attract” singer has instead been fielding a range of offers from other networks, Sonenberg said, while adding he would “never count anything out” regarding Fox’s cash-cow singing competition.

A&E may have approved Jackson brothers reality show
The website Showbiz 411 is reporting that A&E has approved episodes of a reality show featuring the Jackson brothers that will show them struggling to deal with Michael Jackson’s death. The siblings shot a pilot for the show prior to the singer’s demise, which did not feature the late megastar.

Brian Dennehy to direct 'Redemption'
Brian Dennehy (Righteous Kill) is set to make his feature directing debut, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The Golden Globe-winning actor will helm the period drama Redemption, based on a script he co-wrote about the true story of a woman jailed for a crime she didn’t commit.
FX adds two new comedy series
FX has ordered freshman seasons of two half-hour comedy series, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The League follows the members of a fantasy football league, while Louie centers on the comedy of stand-up Louis CK. Both shows are produced in-house by FX.
Warner Bros. and YouTube strike a deal
According to Variety, Warner Bros. and corporate sister Turner Broadcasting will begin posting clips of their content on a variety of branded YouTube channels. The deal encompasses content like CNN news broadcasts and WB’s Gossip Girl, some of which will be presented with links that direct viewers to WB’s online store. ABC and CBS have similar deals with the site.
Syfy renews 'Warehouse 13'
Variety reports that Syfy has ordered 13 new episodes of its original series Warehouse 13, following a successful first-season run that earned the best ratings ever for the cable channel. The hourlong dramedy, which averages 3.7 million viewers a week in its 9pm Tuesday timeslot, follows a group of Secret Service agents who investigate supernatural objects.
VH1 reality star wanted for questioning in ex-wife's murder
The Associated Press reports that VH1 reality show contestant Ryan Alexander Jenkins, 32, is wanted by police for questioning regarding the murder of his ex-wife, former model Jasmine Fiore, 28, after her body was found in a trash bin in Buena Park, Calif. this weekend. Fiore was last seen alive in San Diego with Jenkins, who phoned the L.A.P.D. to report her disappearance on Saturday. Jenkins’ current whereabouts are unknown. VH1 has pulled all episodes and promotional materials for its dating show Megan Wants a Millionaire, which featured Jenkins as one of 17 wealthy bachelors seeking to woo former Rock of Love: Charm School contestant Megan Hauserman. Jenkins and Fiore reportedly met and quickly married after the show finished taping in March, but Fiore had the marriage annulled in May.
