Chris Brown says he does remember hitting Rihanna

Tags:

Chris Brown, in a statement released to People.com, says that he does in fact remember hitting Rihanna, refuting a widely circulated clip of an upcoming interview with CNN’s Larry King in which Brown said “no” when asked if he remembered assaulting the singer. Brown claims he “misspoke,” stating that he was asked “something like four or five times” about the attack during the hour-long interview, and “the first four times – or however many times it was – I gave the same answer – which was that I didn’t think it was appropriate for me to talk about what happened that night.” Brown goes on to say, “Of course I remember what happened. Several times during the interview, my mother said that I came to her right afterwards and told her everything. But it was and still is a blur. And yes, I still can’t believe it happened because it is not me or who I am, nor is what happened like anything I have ever done before.”

    Whatever…….

    • Marie

      exactly!

  • jon

Well, that just makes it all better then.

Chris Brown is real piece of work.

    • Katelyn

“…nor is what happened like anything I have ever done before.” Didn’t he slap her around a bit before? Granted, she hit him first one of the times. Not to say that it’s okay for guys to hit women if the woman strikes first, but it shouldn’t be okay for a woman to hit a guy, either, and no one’s complaining about Rihanna’s behavior. Anyways, point is – I’m sure I read that there was another encounter where he smashed car windows and things.

      • Katelyn

Oops, didn’t mean to reply specifically to Jon there. It was just a general comment.

      • Idiot Watch

Yes, let’s all unanimously agree once and for all that IT’S NOT OKAY FOR A GIRL TO HIT A GUY. There. Is everyone happy now?? However, we still have this nagging issue…at the end of it, how come her face looked liked she’d been hit by a bus, but he looked fine?

  • Muffy

This is old news! I’m still waiting for some new catchy songs from both of them!

    • Chazz

      they both suck

  • raquel

chris brown shouldnt explain himself to nobody becasue all they do is talk down on the one who did the crime and let the victim can do as she please..so people make mistake nobody pefrect so back off and leave it be..he didnt have to say sorry for one…so just let him and stop being so damn judge mental on people.. people did micheal like that and now that he did he the king of pop.. nd everybody love him and miss him…but they was clowing him and downing the man..so screw what peopel have to say cuz they two sided

    • mel

Let’s see what your opinion is when you get beat up by your man. You haven’t a clue my dear. Any man that hits a woman is a pvssy and deserves to be judged in my book.

    • Robbyrob

      Raquel,

Sorry, I need an English to Raquel dictionary to decipher your post. Nobody’s Perfect…what a crock! Chris Brown should have been a man and once things got heated, LEFT the car. If Rhianna threw the keys out, then call your manager to pick you up. No smarts needed to think of that. You also contradict yourself by saying (as much as I understood) that it was a ‘crime’. Gee, ya think? Chris and his ‘fans’ deserve one another.

    • steng

English please, Raquel. I’ll continue to be as “judge mental” on Brown, thanks!

    • to Raquel

I hope you remember “nobody pefrect” when your baby daddy shows up on Maury Povich.

  • Keesha

    I agree Raquel.

    • Idiot Watch

Raquel & Keesha: You are both morons of the highest order. Raq – you are also illiterate, another unfortunate strike against you. Oh, yeah — he does have to answer for his acts…TO SOCIETY…We have these things called laws and a justice system. Maybe you’ve never heard of this with your imbecilic “nobody’s perfect” attitude — Moreover, there’s a MORAL question, when you do something wrong, you have to make amends…you have to say you’re sorry…it’s the right thing to do. Earth to Raquel!!! Anybody there???

    • to Keesha

you need to get your head examined

  • Jason

So is Chris Brown REALLY trying to say that LARRY KING was throwing hardballs? REALLY?

    • Nic.

I know!!! Larry King is probably the easiest interview someone like Chris Brown could have done and he still screwed it up. What a tool.

      • Chazz

Larry does not exactly ask the tough questions, e.g. “So, does it make you feel more of a man, beating up a woman?” “Do you think you got off easier than most because of your fame?” “Do you think you could benefit from anger management classes – and p.s. what the hell do you have to be angry about?”

  • Aleksandra

Wow, I’m sorry I even have to say this, but Raquel and Keesha…you’re both a damn disgrace to women, seriously. Your “attempt” to somehow defend that LOW-LIFE SCUM BAG and trivialize the whole situation is disgusting!!! …”but they was clowing him and downing the man”? Oh boo hoo for chris. Well no s#$t ppl would heelllloooo look what he did!!! —When reading that bs I couldn’t help but think of this quote which is completely fitting:
“what you’ve just said is one of the most insanely idiotic things I have ever heard. At no point in your rambling, incoherent response were you even close to anything that could be considered a rational thought. Everyone in this room is now dumber for having listened to it.”

  • michelle

if you are a woman and you hit a man as ifyou want a fight you shouldnt be surprised when you get one when does it stop being a man vs. a woman and become two people fighting with equal shares of the resposibility and anyway what about they are two grown ups should be able to work it out with out fighting physically if it is thaat bad you should end it love is not an easy thing and it makes you blind but once you see your in an abusive relationship you should get out of it and take full resposibility for your half of what has happened weather you swung first or you let someone swing at you take care of yourself

    • Idiot Watch

Michelle: Your comment is moronic re. “when does it stop being a man vs. a woman and become two people fighting with equal shares of the resposibility.” They may share responsibility but in terms of the physical consequences, in most cases you can’t get away from the man vs. woman part because HE’S USUALLY BIGGER AND STRONGER and in most cases she will show the brunt of the altercation.

  • BJohnson

My thing is if you really are sorry or remorseful, stay out of the spotlight. Stop running to the media to apologize to your fans. Show your fans you need time out of the spotlight to get better for yourself. Be blessed you only received probation and go get the help you need and I hope Rihanna gets the help she needs.

  • Idiot Watch

He doesn’t remember, then he remembers. I can’t stand this low-life or his low-life girlfriend. If they still love each other then they should go off an be together and stop clogging up the justice system with their bull%hit.

  • Cleaver

I urge everyone to boycott Larry King Live’s Chris Brown interview on Wed. We have to stop enabling these people — we must stop giving our energies out to the inane matters of the world. He’s only out there to rehabilitate his image. He and Rhianna will be back at it, if they’re not already. They deserve each other. Spend your time on something more important.

  • Housewife in the Desert

“We don’t hit…” You learn that in preschool. Doesn’t matter what gender you are. These are two people who need to stay far, far apart. She needs to learn how to control her mouth. He needs to learn how to control his anger & not lie on national TV. The rest of us need to stop giving them both the time of day…that’ll teach them.

    • Dear Betty Crocker

To Housewife: by saying ‘she needs to control her mouth’ you are clearly implying that she brought it upon herself. I hope you remember that the next time you forget your place and mouth off to your husband. This kind of small-mindedness is akin to the people that say, for example, if a woman dresses suggestively and is raped, she brought it upon herself. Not very nice.

  • qpause

raquel i think you need to go back to school your english is terrible and don’t blame the victim

    • t3hdow

      Speaking of terrible English…

      • me

The english was ok. The grammar was horrible..lol!

    • to qpause

Q: you need to spend less time on the computer and more time in grade school learning about how to us punctuation. Ever heard of a “run-on sentence?” Less blogging and more book-learnin’ for you!

      • to toqpause

I guess you meant ‘how to USE punctuation!!’

  • harry

Keep on digging chris just keep on digging.

  • hmmm

Everyone keeps alluding to Rihanna hitting Chris which started the altercation. Never does it say in this instance that she slapped him, only that she took his phone and keys. So can someone please tell me how and why his behavior can be justified? Oh and the incident they refer to where she slapped him first he responded by shoving her, not choking, biting or punching her.
