Maura Tierney’s great, but I’ve still not figured out her reason to be there other than for Tommy to screw. Also, the French journalist storyline went nowhere. As far as the guys go, what’s the point of making Mickey–stone sober for years–go off the wagon with little discernable provocation or reason. Lou’s been great. Franco’s poorly used. Sean did have a poignant story there, but he’s back in dummy mode. Mike was showing some backbone, but that faded. What gives, y’all? I say this as a fan, not a hater.
Is it just me or does someone has to die every season.
I think your point especially holds true if you’re related to him by blood or marriage. Ellie married his uncle and thus doomed herself.

Going to miss it man. All the points above duly noted and agreed with, but still, it’s one of the funniest and most entertaining shows on television. The right balance of gags, action, heart and testosterone.
Good!! The first three were great. Last season stunk- this season has been boring. Come on – how long are we going to have to hear about his love triangles with Sheila and Janet. Like so many shows it seemed to be great at first and then get too full of itself. Then it seems like they tell stories they want to tell instead of what the audience likes. It is time to say goodbye to that show.
I agree with you mostly, but it is their show, so they can do what they want with it as part of their artistic vision. Nonetheless, their vision is getting blurry, and I often wonder why they are doing what they are doing and what made them think that direction was a good idea in the first place. That being said, after season 4 ended, I said I was done, Lo and behold, I’ve not missed an episode this season, as grating as it can sometimes be. What does that say about fans who continue to tune in to a show that is losing its way?
I’m sorry to say it, but the show needs to end. This season has been terrible–contrived, repetitous, out of character, ridiculous. Such a sad state of affairs for a once great show.
Ive been a fan from the beginning. I love this show, as a huge fan I agree with all the comments, but I will watch it till the end. I have to see where their lives end up. I want to thank Dennis for all the great years, and bad. The show will be missed.
I wish the show would end sooner. the last three seasons have been utterly horrible. the worst scene i’ve seen on that show was when he was raped by that psycho. it jumped the shark then
I would be willing to watch Dennis doing anything any time.
Best show on TV. Only show I actually look forward to watching on a weekly basis. Sometimes sappy but overall very entertaining.
