Neil Patrick Harris is serving as a guest judge for American Idol, according to E! News. A representative from Fox told E! that Harris sat at the judges’ table for today’s Dallas auditions.

I LOVE NPH, but as a judge for Idol, not so sure. He’ll probably give us all some laughs though.
Normally I’d say that NPH is way too classy for the likes of Idol, but I’m in favor of anything that brings him to DFW!

OK, so NPH is OK, but on Idol? No, sorry- doesn’t belong there.
I’m surprised that CBS allowed this to happen – especially considering that they nixed Kaley Cuoco’s appearance on Grey’s Anatomy.
I’d like to see him judge in character as Barney. Hitting on the good looking woman, telling off the talented but ugly girl, asking the studly guy to be his wingman. Frigging awesome.
At least he can actually sing unlike Posh Spice or Joe Jonas. NPH is awesome and will actually make AI better.
