    Forks is in Washington, smarty.

    • Heather

I noticed that too. Typo maybe.

    • Isolde

      They shoot in Vancouver.

    • Kate

The stories take place in Forks, Washington. It was too expensive, at least during Twilight’s shoot (according to Catherine Hardwicke’s Directors Notebook) to shoot at the actual locations that are in the book. Twilight and New Moon were shot mainly in Vancouver.

      • ToriBella

Actually, Twilight was shot in and around Forks, Washington, and in Oregon. NOT Vancouver.

    • Lola

The books take place in Forks. Twilight was filmed in Forks AND Oregon. New Moon was filmed in Forks, Vancouver, and Italy. Eclipse is being shot in Forks and Vancouver.

I don’t really know how I feel about Julia Jones and BooBoo Stewart (serious BooBoo what kind of name is that to actually go by professionally?) I think they should have cast Q’orianka Kilcher as Leah. I am not sure who I would want for Seth but BooBoo is not it. However, I am excited that David Slade is directing Eclipse, he can provide great gore for the fight scenes!

  • rg

no gore please – remember younger kids are going to be watching this as well as older mothers!

    • Maddy

Apparently you missed the part in the last book where the kid rips its way out of the mothers body in a gruesome blood fest worthy of the SAW films.

      • ocnlvr83

If we’re discussing gore in Eclipse, there isn’t any as far as I remember. Although, there is an excessive amount of body breaking, since it’s the only way to kill vamps in the series.

      • Alicia

Haha – yea. If I were a mom, I wouldn’t let my kids read the Twilight books until they were at least 13. Kids don’t need to be exposed to the sexual tension before then, much less all the goings on of breaking dawn. If you don’t want your kids seeing the action, don’t let them read the books, Genius.

      • Tina

That was in Breaking Dawn, not Eclipse.

      • Holly

    • em

If you don’t like it, don’t go.

      • sophia

if theres going to be gore in Eclipse then count me out. and yea Breaking dawn is not good for children

  • Nicole

I didnt like that they cast boo boo stewart as Seth Clearwater. I looked him up on google images and he’s not what i pictured as Seth at all. I thought werewolves were supposed to be native american, but boo boo is chinese. this is really dissapointing because seth was one of my favorite characters. :(

    • kazami_11

He is Native American, Scottish and Asian.

    • em

      Sheesh – prejudiced much?

BooBoo, while saddled with a RIDICULOUS name, deserves a shot, regardless of your particular ethnic hang-ups.

      • Nicole

its not prejudiced i just thought they should stick to the books more. never said he was a bad choice. and y make fun of his name?

      • Cat whit

I haven’t seen a picture of the actor for Seth, but the prejudiced comment really annoys me.
How is wanting a Native American character to be played by a Native American actor prejudiced? It’s just consistancy. There are significant visual differences between Asian and Native American. And mixed visual heritage wouldn’t be a problem for any of the other wolves, but “Seth” has a sister in the film. Shouldn’t they be the same visual nationality?!

Actually, the big fight is not against the Volturi – that’s in Breaking Dawn. This big fight is between the werewolves and Victoria’s army of new vampires…and unlike in Breaking Dawn…there actually is a physical fight.

    • Katie

Actually, the big fight is not against the Volturi – that’s in Breaking Dawn.

Actually, I don’t recall ANY actual fight in BD. But I get your point.

  • Marissa

I believe it is Forks, WA. Otherwise a whole lotta ppl are visting the wrong town.

  • Heather

Whatever, I’m just excited that Eclipse is being done. My favorite book of the series. And I love David Slade’s movies.

  • lynneb

you got it Marissa…it’s Forks WASHINGTON…way to do your homework Nicole Sperling

  • Jeff D.

    Two mistakes:
One-production began yesterday (the 17th), not today.
Two-Forks is in WA, not OR.
Get your facts right or don’t do the article at all.

    • Rosie

I think what the mean by saying Forks, OR is that it is mostly filmed in Oregon (Sarcasm)… It’s a theory or they might have really made the mistake… There will have to be a scene with the Volturi, because if you recall they show up at the end of the fight and kill Bree who surrenders.

  • teddy

I don’t remember the Volturi being in this one. This is the Victoria battle. The Volturi don’t show up again until book 4, right?

    • cheri

The Volturi show up after the newborn / Victoria battle to punish the newborns. Remember, they kill Irina and the newborn who surrendered?

      • Nic.

The Volturi kill Irina in Breaking Dawn.

      • Angela

Irina is not killed until book 4. Jane and the other guards show up after the fight is over and kill the last new born vampire created by Victoria.

  • AnonGeek

Ugh! Eclipse was my least favorite book — it’s one I literally threw against the wall. I restrained myself from throwing New Moon. The whole lover’s triangle thing is so annoying and never rang true. I hope Slade can do something with it.

    • Kat

So basically, you don’t like half of the series?

      • Heather

RFLMAO .. that’s kind of what I was thinking.

      • AnonGeek

I loved the vampire world SM created. But like many out there (often silenced), I can still look at the series with a critical eye. The problem for me with the whole Jacob relationship is how SM set up the reader with the “greatest love ever OMG!” then created this not-convincing-to-me conflict for Bella over her feelings for Edward and Jacob. That’s what didn’t ring true. After New Moon’s ending, Eclipse just didn’t seem quite right.

  • Jen

We have some facts way off base here. In Eclipse three members of The Volturi guard show up after the fight. I believe it was Jane, Felix, & Demetri. They compliment the Cullens on a nice job & sorry they missed it. They do kill the newborn that surrendered, but Irina was not there. You’re confusing the third & fourth book. We don’t see Irina until BD, she is the only one killed at the end.

    • Cat whit

At the end of Eclipse, the “usual contingent” show up to deal with the out of control newborns. There was more than just the three we know by name.
Also, with the artistic license (and I use the term loosely) that the directors and script writers have been taken, you can’t be sure what really happens with the movie until you see it.
Also, the artical says Forks, WA. I’m canadian but I assume WA is Washington. Where’s the problem here?

The town is Forks, WA not Or!

    • Lola

      It says WA…

  • Christie

    LOL at the mistake.

    • em

Who fact-checked this article? (No one, clearly!)

  • Heather

EW, I would like to say thank you for all of your Twilight coverage. There are a lot of Twilight haters that come on here and threaten to end their subscriptions and stop coming on the website, but yet you continue your coverage. I am an avid fan of the books and movies and the cast. So, thank you for your endless coverage. This is one of the main reasons that I continue to come to your site.

    • Hannah

I’ll meet you in the middle, Heather. I totally disagree with the haters who think EW should stop ALL Twilight coverage. That’s just stupid; it’s a popular book and film franchise and it’s going to bring in readers. But nor do I think they need to have posts over every minute thing that happens, or use Twilight to “make” news (remember the Pattinson/Cannes post?).

      • Heather

I agree with you. Some stuff is just ridiculous. Twilight makeup? Twilight barbie dolls? Come on people. But I do like posts like this, that are informative.
But in all fairness, they have stupid posts for other movies as well.
