EW has confirmed that country music superstar Shania Twain will be the next guest judge on American Idol, after Victoria Beckham and Mary J. Blige. (People.com first reported the possibility of Twain taking Paula Abdul’s recently vacated seat.) Twain will join Idol judges Randy Jackson, Kara DioGuardi, and Simon Cowell on August 30 and 31 in Chicago.

The auditions just started on August 8th and continue for the next couple of months.
Paula Who? We can only HOPE that someone of Shania Twain’s caliber would take the place of the babbling Abdul and her wishy-washy gibberish. But to be honest, what the hell does someone like Shania need with the fading “AI”?
I have to give it to them–excellent move on both sides. Getting someone the public has missed so much to get viewers back in the wake of the whole Paula debacle is brilliant. And it certainly won’t hurt her comeback to be on such a huge show. What do you think? Will Clive Davis throw his weight around to get Whitney to be a guest judge as well?

non-current look on music…oh she rocked in her day and with her style but not idol!
