George Michael questioned, released after crash

Filed under: News and tagged: ,

Singer George Michael maintains he was “stone cold sober” when his SUV rammed into a tractor trailer in England Friday night, the Associated Press reports. Michael was arrested and questioned for five hours after his Land Rover hit the back of a lorry truck. “The driver of a Land Rover, a 46-year-old man, was arrested on suspicion of being unfit through drink or drugs,” said a police spokesperson. “He was later released without charge.” The driver of the lorry, Lawrie Rowe, maintains that Michael “must have been doing 100mph” when Michael’s vehicle struck his. Rowe went on to tell London’s Sun that after the accident, “He came over to my cab and asked if I had stopped to give him a lift. He was absolutely not with it, so I told him ‘no.’ But he insisted and tried to get in. …When it finally dawned on him that I wouldn’t give in, he walked off” down the highway. Michael, who has admitted to past substance abuse problems, has been arrested repeatedly. There is no word on whether further legal action will be taken against him.

Anyone else think this article was going to mention a totaled stair car?

Figures, all you people ever print is false information and never the truth…George was tested for drugs/alcohol in which both came back NEGATIVE. Both drivers claim fault of one another ~ it is up to the Insurance companies to battle it out. An accident…period.

Wouldn’t you be dazed if you rear-ended another vehicle going that fast? I’d be dead.

Jules, you must be George’s publicist. I think this is just another publicity stunt to make people remember who he is.

Anyone else think of Arrested Development when seeing the headline?
