Comedy Central has pulled the plug on Reno 911!. Star/co-creator Thomas Lennon broke the news that the show’s recently wrapped sixth season will be its last on his Twitter feed saying, “Reno 911! was canceled at 1:30 pm today. Won’t be wearing the shorts again.” When contacted by EW on Friday, a rep for Comedy Central said, “We can officially confirm that we won’t be making any more new episodes.”

Christine Spines strikes again. Which was it — did Comedy Central confirm it or did they decline comment? Mistakes in the Mildred Pierce story, a laughable error in the Superman story, and now this. Three strikes!
Is this guy for real???
What was the Superman story? I must have missed that, but you sparked my curiosity.
Never mind. I found the article!
you should get a life my friend and maybe quit tanning by the glow of the computer screen. they cancelled the show but didn’t make any comments on it so she reportedly correctly. get off her back and your ass and find something more creative to nit pick at.
That’s what Lennon gets for the way he and the other producers let McLendon-Covey and Alazraqui go.
I really missed those characters, too, and found it difficult to watch the new guys. Eh.
Totally agree, the mojo left with Garcia and Clementine.
I completely agree. Didn’t like this last season with the way they discarded 2 original cast members like that. Time to move on.
Agreed. The recent cast changes were a blow. The show just wasn’t as funny anymore. But in its prime – funniest show on TV.
I thought the cast replacements were a mistake. It wasn’t nearly as good this season and maybe that’s why it was axed. But it had a good run. RIP Reno. PS. Anyone miss American Bodyshop?
I’m with you, the first episode I saw without those cast members was the last episode I watched.
I really see this as karma for what Lennon did. I do wish the best of luck to Yarbough and Nash.
not only was 1st episode with new characters the last episode I watched but also it prompted me to write a complaint letter to comedy central i was so angry that they messed it up so bad
My feelings exactly!
I loved the show, but was growing a little tired of it. Sorry for the guys (and girls), but now everyone from The State can move onto their next collaboration and hopefully it will be awesome!
Did McClendon-Covey and Alazraqui quit or were they fired?
They were fired and in a cold arse fashion. Really shined a light on what dicks the crew from The State became.
This is horrible news. It was a great show and it was practically impossible to figure out when new episodes were on — way to go, Comedy Central.
I liked this show but couldn’t keep up with when the new shows were on, but admit that I didn’t try to hard after the cast change. It did have a good run.
I actually liked the new guys pretty well but can’t complain too much about the cancellation since the show had a pretty good run. The thing that really sucks though is that the finale was pretty weak. It didn’t even have Terry in it! I think if they’d been given notice ahead of time that they were getting canned we’d have had a better send off.
I hate the phrase, but this show had literally “jumped the shark.” Or Dangle tried to on a bike during the first episode of the 5th season, I believe. I loved this show and think it never got the credit it deserved.
What a bummer. Love that show.
Did anyone else out there think the movie was hilarious? Stupid at times, but I laughed pretty hard.
I missed season 5 and didn’t know they made cast changes. It sucks when a show is cancelled after production wraps and they can’t say good-bye.
I stopped watching once they added the new female cop, but I still have so many favorite moments. I think the episode with the televangelist is my absolute favorite, it has so many priceless moments! I also love one scene where they find fast food at a crime scene and are trying to re-enact how it had to do with the crime, only to find out it had been placed there by a cop…”and monkey roll, monkey roll…”
Solid show – but after a while the jokes got stale. 4 seasons was probably enough – but it’s TV and you have to run anything succesful into the ground.
American TV perhaps. The British version of The Office ran 2 seasons only. Creators did NOT want to run it into the ground. Sometime in Britain they wait a few years between seasons (Ab Fab)untill enough QUALITY material is created.
It does seem to take forever for quality British material.
HEARTBROKEN! Especially now that Joe Lotruglio had joined the show!:(
That sucks. I won’t watch TDS or CR anymore and SP pretty much sucks. Reno was the only reason I watched that channel anymore. Did Ben Silverman get a job there or something?
FYI JSYK TDS, CR, and SP will nvr b a ER or FG. I LMAO @ AD & FG ATT.
