Joan Rivers roast fails to cook up big audience

Filed under: News and tagged:

The Comedy Central roast of Joan Rivers on Sunday only attracted 2.8 million viewers, a 32% percent drop from the network’s last special that poked fun at Larry the Cable Guy (4.1 million) in March, according to Variety. Given the appeal of previous roasts involving Bill Engvall (6.2 million) and Pamela Anderson (4.3 million), the network reportedly upped its roast specials this year. Brad Garrett, Tom Arnold and Robin Givens were among the comedians who participated in Rivers’ roast hosted by Kathy Griffin.

    Are they really shocked???

Greg Giraldo (SP?) was pretty funny. It was all downhill from there.

It was Robin Quivers, not Robin Givens.

Who cares about joan rivers. Plus, kathy griffin is not funny at all.

Tom Arnold, Robin Quivers, and Mario Cantone did a poor job. Jeffrey Ross & Carl Reiner were the best of the roasters, with all others not previously mentioned doing a fair job. All in all, it wasn’t as funny as some of the other roasts, but I think Joan herself did better than some of the other roastees (is that the correct term?) did.

I think people had enough Joan Rivers during Celebrity Apprentice. I did.

I can’t bear to look at Joan Rivers’ face, after all the plastic surgery she had. She doesn’t even look human.
