Ashley Greene, who picked up a Teen Choice award last night for her role as Alice Cullen in Twilight, is hitting back over nude photos of her posted on the internet. “The photos in question, which appear to be of our client, are illegal and are being unlawfully displayed,” Greene’s lawyer told People magazine in a statement. “Our client intends to take legal action.” Greene won the Choice Fresh Face Female award for playing the pixie-esque Cullen sister in the enormously successful Twilight franchise. The second film in the series, New Moon, arrives in theaters November 20.

Um, if you send someone nude pix of yourself (which is a dumb thing to do but even dumber if your famous) then you have to live with the consequences.
The story is taking nude pictures on the net in the first place, not that they were illegally obtained. It’s now a way to get your name in the paper. A good publicity stunt that works every time!

Phil et al. You’re all idiots! Some people, especially those who aren’t really stars, do innocent things! When you’re partnered or married, many couples do crazy things in the privacy of their homes and bedrooms. Other times, folks take modelling gigs that require some level of nudity, though usually modest….but when the robe is dropped and before you can get into position (with everything covered), someone unauthorized snaps a photo. What about the dirty boyfriend who illegally and without your consent tapes you in the shower or getting dressed?
Don’t always assume that a woman is a “slut” because of some nude photos. Why, also, don’t you sexist male pigs call men sluts for the same thing? It’s always the woman who’s a slut, right?
Until you know otherwise, don’t always assume the worst. Why are criminals presumed innocent until proven guilty…..but others not?

At first, I thought the lawyer’s comments meant that they were taken through a peephole or obtained in some other illegal manner, but putting out a press release about it? Hardly. Not enough websites had picked up copies of the pictures yet, and they wanted everybody to go look. If they were big on the web and then there was a statement made, that’d be another story, but when a quick Google can’t even find them in the first 3 pages of results, it’s obviously a press gambit.

Thanks for your comment. I have been so disgusted with how Kristen Stewart behaved and looked at Comic Con and her pot pics on the net. I felt like she was nothing like she pretended to be during Twilight and questioned Rob’s sanity in getting involved with her. I guess, she has the right to blow her career by behaving twitchy, speaking badly, acting unsophisticated and unfeminine. After all, it is a lot to expect that a lucky actress with a big opportunity appreciate it and stop putting down the fans ans cursing in interviews.
I love Twilight…but I still don’t get why so many stars take nude pics of themselves. I get that everyone makes mistakes…but why do they all seem to make that same mistake?

Heard that the photos came from a photographer out to make some money. She was supposed to be 19 at the time, under what circumstances I don’t know. Didn’t look like it was taken from home and didn’t look like she took it herself. Doesn’t make it much better, I know. I agree, actresses need to be more circumspect about these things.
